Marvo301 02-22-2011, 03:07 PM Wow! Turns out my name ranks #115. Thats much higher than I expected since I very rearely ever meet anyone with the same name as me.
#2, not very suprising! I wonder what name is #1?
Miss Lisa 02-22-2011, 03:50 PM The #1 for girls is Mary. Lol, not surprising since I have two friends named Mary and a few relatives. I checked my last name though, and its number 26040. Haha only 1250 people have my same last name. Some of the last names in my family don't have enough people to even be ranked.

I think my name must be pretty unique. :)
Sara is #84 most popular name although Sarah is #23 most popular. I know that Sara/h was the most popular name the year I was born. Which is why there was about 4 Sara's in every class in high school. I looked up my relatives names too. I found out something I already knew, that my Grandpa's name Gerhardt was rare.
my name is so unique, and every other person having the same name as i have is too rich,so this is good for me

Tweety 10-01-2011, 09:29 AM The site told me that:
TWEETY is a very rare male first name
Very few male first names in the US are TWEETY
I did not know that.
Tweety 10-01-2011, 09:40 AM btw, here's another site that some folks might find interesting...
http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#ms=false&exact=false
If you input a name, it will produce a graph showing how popular the first name has been throughout the past 130 years or so, going back to the 1880s...
For example, if you put in "Mary", it will show it as a very popular baby name in the 1880s, and it peaked again in the 1920s, but has declined ever since.
A name like "Horace" was very popular in the 1890s and early 1900s, not so much today.
"Amber" was huge in the 80s. Same with "Tiffany"
"Jenna" was big in the 90s and early 2000s
It's a pretty cool site. It gives a scale as to how many babies per million born that year had the name that you're looking for. The scales on the graphs can be different for each name.
The original site (subject of this thread) refers to how popular a name is among people who are living in the U.S. right now. The site I linked to deals strictly with how popular baby names were through the years.
