has this been on TV anywhere anymore or is available any where? Would love to get this movie mini-series. I know it had Wayne Rogers and can't think of the other big names of the time that were in it. last time i saw i think it was WTBS LONG time ago

Much of that mini-series was filmed right here in my hometown of Chester,
SC (although, unfortunately, I happened to be living in Florida at the time).
The cast included: Charlton Heston, Wayne Rogers, Paul Sorvino, Keith
Carradine, Tess Harper, Lane Smith, Brad Davis, Billy Dee Williams, Stephen
Collins, and Victoria Tennant. Amazon.com has it on both VHS and DVD. So
does eBay. Excellent show. (My nephew had a non-speaking role as one of
the extras in a scene, and his wife got Stephen Collins' autograph.)

Excellent series. I used to have this on tape. Beware because the VHS version took out a few scenes. Not sure about the DVD. Hopefully its uncut.

I've only seen a Pal region 2 dvd on Amazon. From the 206 minute runntime, looks like it's the same as the retail vhs tapes. I put the retail vhs tapes on 2 dvds, but I didnt know they were edited.
Apparently there's a German 4-dvd release which has both versions. A good copy of the shorter version, but the longer 283 minute version has poor quality audio.
