LOL, During the closing credits when the camera is moving down the street, you see a guy with red shorts running into a shaded alley-lol

I wonder who he thought it was to run away. Wonder if he has ever been identified

Just a guess, but I suspect it was the owner of the home and he didn't want to be filmed.

I watch the closing credits every night just so I can see him responding to the camera and saying-"Oh sh*t I'm being filmed"

Yup, Lear and Company caught some people by a surprise when filming but you didn't see that in the opening credits of the Jeffersons or Maude

I always noticed someone walking in front of *what I assume to be the Bunker house*

The Bunker house has a newspaper on the doorstep.

I’ve seen this show so many times and never noticed him. He’s there for literally a split second. How the heck did you see him in the first place?

Was he there all 9 seasons? I was thinking, if this guy got even a penny every time an All In The Family ever aired somewhere he’d have some decent money.

Really good catch. On a similar theme I too love the people that are filmed for sitcom openings or closings and dont realize it. On the opening to Threes Company is filmed from a roof somewhere looking down on Santa Monica and there is a guy on roller skates. I doubt he knew he was being filmed. On Welcome Back Kotter there are countless people walking the streets. I love the guy on the unicycle at the end. But the most famous is the Mary Tyler Moore show with her in the street and throwing up her hat. That woman's look was so authentic.

Yup, i did the same with Odd Couple closing and opening credits. Jeffersons, with all people walking in Manhatttan, TC season 4 closing with all people on boardwalk.

But in regards to the guy in AITF closing, if u not paying attention you wont notice him lol

Even if you pay attention its hard to see him. I never noticed him before and when I saw this thread I watched looking for him and did not see him. Someone pointed out when he appears and I watched again and saw him.

There's a thread on Quora about this oddly specific and extremely esoteric question.

The guy probably died years ago if the aerial shots in the opening credits were shot in the late 1960s.

I wonder if this guy ever knew he was filmed and in the closing credits. This was like Google Street View before it existed.

I guess he has never come forward to identify himself.

From a YouTube comment:

Cooper Street in the Glendale section of Queens is where the actual house and footage was shot even though in the show the address was known as 704 Hauser in Astoria, Queens.

Someone with time on their hands in New York could get some good leads on this. Find the exact address, then a real estate search would turn up who owned it then. If you got real lucky and the property hasn't changed hands since 1970, the information might even be online.

I'm from NYC. No one in their right mind would do something like this, regardless of whether they were from NYC or anywhere else. It's fun and games to speculate about stuff like this on a forum. Anything else--especially looking up real estate information to track down who owned the house, lived there all these years, etc.--is a sign of some kind of disorder or other issues, IMO.

I think I heard it was just someone walking down the street and he tried to get out of the way of the filming crew.

It reminds of, ppl also wonder who the angry looking woman is in the Mary Tyler Moore intro when Mary throws her hat in the air, there's a woman in the background who looks at her with a scowl on her face lol

Red shorts guy should be as famous as the scowling woman, Hazel Frederick. He was the only person visible in the closing credits. He was shown every week in one of the most iconic television series in history. I don't think they ever changed the visuals.

Archie Bunker's place is another one that has real street scenes in the opening.

My favorite is the guy on roller skates on the Threes Company opening on the beach. He's in the bottom left corner for the opening roof scene to the beach. I assume he had no idea he was being filmed.
