Jason Alexander has paid tribute to Len Lesser, who died yesterday morning at the age of 88.

Lesser regularly appeared in Seinfeld as Jerry Seinfeld's Uncle Leo. Alexander featured in the sitcom as Jerry's best friend George Costanza.

In a post on Twitter, Alexander said: "Len was a tremendous guy. He was a smart actor/comedian who knew exactly what he was doing in the creation of Uncle Leo.

"I enjoyed many wonderful conversations with Len who was so openly grateful to be part of our show and so humble about his stunning contribution to it."

He added: "I am so happy to have known him and my sympathies go to his family. But his was a fun life and he leaves many fans behind and many who will be enjoying his work for years to come.

"'Hellooo' Uncle Leo. And goodbye. Sleep well. Much love."

What a great tribute to Len Lesser. Wouldn't it be nice if more people were like Mr. Lesser and were grateful for and humble about their success?!

Jason is such a classy guy. I would absolutely LOVE to meet him, as he shares his birthday with my husband! I guess I don't have to mention how jealous I am about THAT! I was just thinking the other day about what I would say to Jason should we ever meet face to face. He was in this adorable movie years ago called "I Don't Buy Kisses Anymore." It's on DVD but I had to resort to Ebay to find it. I would love to tell him how much I love that movie. It's really cute. And I suppose I'd have to tell him how much I loved Seinfeld. I'm sure they get tired of that all the time, but I think deep down they appreciate hearing about it!

Jason does seem like a great guy - did you ever see him in the remake of Bye Bye Birdie, with Vanessa Williams, Chynna Phillips, George Wendt and Tyne Daly? He sang and danced his heart out. I'd love to meet him, too. :D

I really haven't seen too much of his "post-George Costanza" stuff but I really should!
