Rob Schneider is returning to Television. Hmmm…what spurred the decision I wonder?

Hey! Might the last straw for the actor have been getting the chop from the new Adam Sandler movie!?

Or was it Quentin Tarantino turning him down for a role in Inglourious Basterds? (It’s true, Schneider called Tarantino and asked him if there was a role for him in the War pic. Tarantino said no, but he let Schneider read the first half of the script anyway).

Or was it that, with the tragic death of David Carradine his proposed Big Stan franchise was also laid to rest? (Schneider had been planning a sequel to Big Stan. He was willing to pay for it out of his own pocket if he’d had to. But, of course, he didn’t want to do it without Carradine).

Personally, I think the ‘Sandler movie chop’ is weird.

Yeah, can you believe it!? No ‘You can doooo ittttt!’ in the new Sandler production. Robbed.

Granted Schneider didn’t actually film a cameo in Just Go With It - the new romantic comedy starring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston - but he was supposed to.

“They had to recast”, I’m told. “Rob was supposed to cameo - just as he does in all of Adam’s movies. It didn’t work out. So Rob didn’t end up doing it.”

It’d be easy to say ‘scheduling difficulties prevented Schneider from filming his cameo‘ but, er, Schneider didn’t have much of anything going on last year sans a couple of ‘voice over’ gigs in animated movies! Odd, right!?

Schneider does usually appear in all of Sandler’s films - or has in recent years anyway; he even co-starred with Sandler in last year’s Grown Ups.

I wonder what went wrong!?

Anyway, in addition to his new TV show, Schneider is onboard Old Scratch, a horror film about a guy that decides to start playing records backwards, so he isn’t going to go hungry.
