Henry Winkler, known to many Americans for his role as the Fonz on "Happy Days,” is one of only four people outside of Great Britain who will receive an Order of the British Empire from the Queen of England this year, reports the New York Post.

Winkler is receiving the award for his work in the U.K. with learning-challenged children, the story says.

The actor joined First News, the only children's newspaper in the UK, on its annual Read Tour of schools in 2008, and last year helped debut the My Way campaign in London for the Department for Education and First News, which focused on boosting confidence of kids with special educational needs, the story notes.

Winkler will receive the award at a special ceremony later this year in Washington.

Henry Winkler suffers from dyslexia and had a very difficult time in school. It's nice to see him helping children with learning disabilities overcome the same challenges he himself had to overcome. Congratulations Henry on your work and the recognition you are receiving for it!
