View Full Version : Showing Emotions
LucyFan 12-30-2001, 04:33 AM I am wondering about something . . . Do you think males should show their emotions whenever they get hurt (whichever way they get hurt; ie: inside, physically, ect)?
And if the male does cry, does that discourages the girls?
Mossopp 12-30-2001, 06:20 AM Good topic.
Yeah, I definately think guys should show their emotions more. I understand that some women want their boyfriends/husbands to be emotionally strong but that shouldn't mean that they have to actually hide how they are feeling. A lot of the time, guys go too far with the whole macho 'look at me, I'm so tough' image and it just makes them act like assh*les.
Actually, if I do see a guy cry, I am kinda impressed cos it shows that he doesn't care about being seen as tough or whatever.
vienna waits 12-30-2001, 11:22 AM I say yes because I do.
Kay Scarpetta 12-30-2001, 12:25 PM I'd say.... yes. Don't ask why I just say yes lol.

It really depends on the situation. Like if the girl does or is going to do something *drastic* and the guy cries or whatever then it makes the girl think twice. If what she does/is going to do upsets him so much that he begins to cry then he really must care ALOT.

Yeah. They feel totally comfortable around you and feel no need to act tough to impress you or whatever.

Exactly. They don't have to be emotionally not stable or "cry babies" but they shouldn't be total macho men and no show what they are feeling at all.....
Just my imput..........
JDS84 12-30-2001, 04:40 PM I think guys should show there emotions.
gothic of darkness 12-30-2001, 05:53 PM Yes, of course guys should show their emotions. They're human
beings too and have feelings.I feel that it's unhealthy for people
not to express themselves.I do have to admit, however....that
I pass judgement upon people that I see crying.I automatically
think that they're a wuss.I'm not a very emotional or sensitive
person so I don't cry much.I would never say anything bad to
someone that I see upset because they have they right to show their feelings, but it annoys me when people are sniffling and carrying on in public. When I cry, I usually go somewhere by myself.
DarleneIllyria 12-31-2001, 12:02 AM Yeah, guys should show their emotions more. I'm not saying crying at the drop of a hat or anything, but atleast show that you do have pain. I know male pride may keep you from crying, but it really is better to cry and get it over with then instead of bottling it up inside you and then it coming out triple when you do release the pain.
Max Whittaker 12-31-2001, 12:11 AM What is this... emotion? We men HAVE no feelings! Just kidding!
I agree, bottling up your emotions isn't healthy for man or woman... I think the 'macho man' image is best left in the past.
Warm & Fuzzy 12-31-2001, 03:55 PM Of course they should...I mean, why not? ((Girls do it all the time...some girls, let me correct myself...)) :D
tylersmistress2002 01-02-2002, 05:18 PM men should be able to show their emotions more but society has always promoted the idea that "showing emotions is showing weakness". IT JUST ISNT TRUE. It takes a stronger person to express their feelings, than it does to hide them.
Max Whittaker 01-02-2002, 05:26 PM I wonder who voted 'No'.
Hollow 01-02-2002, 07:11 PM I don't think it should matter.
Sean Snow 01-02-2002, 07:36 PM Men should show their feelings more. They have feelings too!
Dude111 03-20-2023, 02:04 AM I am Mae and cry often.......... I probably cry more than anyone in my family.........
Its OK to cry :)
Caroline13 03-20-2023, 03:10 PM Everyone could use a GOOD cleansing cry. I've cried at many tear jerker movies, Terms of Endearment, to name one, but often in real life issues I can't seem to cry...and I often TRY....
