WOW! It's been out for 8 years. I never knew until about a week ago. That is ridiculous no other seasons have been released. Does anybody know why not?

That's the dumbest thing. I have ever heard. If it's not selling it's not because people don't love the show. It's because they can get it for free from the library. I know though to them it's all about making money. Maybe they should advertise it a little better, because I had no idea. The first season was even released until about a week ago.

That's the only way for all DVD releases to do well but the stupid companies don't promote it. I remember the Jeffersons DVD release being promoted on the David Letterman show which is why the sales were good. People who are not members of this site may need to be reached through TV

hawkeye123

Yeah, they should of promoted it non stop. One of the stars going on Letterman. Would of been a good idea. Or even just advertise with some commercials and, tell us what stores it will be selling at lol play a couple Who's The Boss marathons.

Yep it is dumb and very frustrating when other less popular shows have been released on dvd. But yeah the promotion of it must not have been good. I understand it's about money for the companies but honestly season 2 was really the show's breakout season and it deserves another chance and better promotion. I remember when The Golden Girls came out on dvd, the stars made personal appearances and were doing signings and helping to promote the release and it worked. So why didn't they have the WTB? stars do that? I know TD gave the audience of his talk show that were there for the reunion free copies, but thats all the promo that I know of. I did buy it but not right away. I wouldn't care so much if we could see the UNEDITED episodes in syndication and not butchered versions. I think it would take a miracle for them to listen to us and give us what we want.

How did Tony's Talk show do? I never saw it. At least they did that I guess. It's nowhere near enough though, because not everyone is a fan of talk shows. Well I hope they give it another shot. It definitely deserves it. It was a great show.

I think for any show to do well in DVD sales, it has to be on cable

If not, forget it. That's how i discovered most of the shows I like, on CABLE which led to a DVD release

I didn't watch much because of work and all but I think it only lasted 2 seasons. Yeah talk shows are not alot of people's cup of tea. I used to be a fan of some in the past but not anymore. WTB? is my all-time favorite show. It really does deserve a second chance at being released on dvd.

Yeah I know, it was a pretty highly rated show too. They shouldn't be allowed to not release every season, if they release one season. They should have to release every season.

I seen enough of the show in local syndication to buy it on DVD if more seasons came out.

I think I watched the last 2 seasons on ABC. I was too young when it premiered but was old enough to watch every Tuesday Night at 8pm from 1989 to 1992

I must have somehow seen the earlier episodes in syndication as well. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and, it began in 1984. I was 2 years old then. All I know though is I just watched season one and I could remember every episode.

Yeah it was in the top 10 for half of it's run, so thats pretty good to me. And I also agree that if they release one season they should have to release all the seasons on dvd.

I watched Full House a bit but wasn't a fan. Now WTB? was my show! I remember when it was on in syndication constantly, many episodes a day and I would set my vcr to tape alot of them. From what I heard it always did really well in syndication. So I hope it continues to do so on The Tv Guide Network where it is now on for 2 hours instead of 1!

I loved Who's The Boss as a kid, but I have to admit I skipped the first season on dvd. I prefer season 2 onwards as the show got into it's swing more and the show got more 80s with Alyssa Milano growing up. I really hope they continue this series on dvd. Such a charming show with so many great actors and actresses!

Sadly, either that's the case or music rights. This is such a classic 80s show to not be released on DVD.

In the tv ratings, "Who's The Boss" made it to the Top 10 4 consecutive years in a row (1985-88), and then came 12th in the 89-90 season. It still amazes me how this show isn't being continued on dvd... arrghhh!

What's even stranger is that Season 1 is also on DVD in Germany and France under the titles Wer Ist Hier Der Boss in Germany and as Madame est Servie in France. They look almost exactly like the US Season 1 release. It was a big hit overseas as well. I wish they would release the rest of the series. Maybe one day Shout will get it like they've been doing for others.

Often times, shows that were big hits when they were initially on do not fare all that well in syndication and such. And that then translates to DVD sales.

I just bought Season 1 today at Walmart for $10. I won't be watching it until later this fall sometime so I am not going to open it yet in case Shout announces a complete series set then I can return it and get a full refund. If Shout doesn't release more, then I will keep it and buy a homemade set on ioffer later this year.

Why waste time? What if it's never released? Just go on and buy the whole series from iOffer. I did several years ago and I LOVE my set. Instead of sitting around waiting and hoping for a complete series release, you can do like I did and go on and get it through iOffer. It's a great quality and you get to enjoy any episodes or any seasons any time you want. :)

David Letterman is not why the Jeffersons sets sold good. Actually, they didn't, because Sony wouldn't have abandoned it if it were selling. And I hate David Letterman with a flaming passion. Shout was afraid they'd lose money if they sold it. Good thing they did, but it was taking a huge leap of faith to do something like that. It's like saying a DVD set only sells well if it's on The Tonight Show.
