Judd Hirsch was often late to rehearsals because he was conducting "business" in his office.

In the summer of 1980 Hirsch along with Danny Devito no showed the taxi tv tapings because they were holding out for more money.

Do you think these things made him a troublemaker on set or just a savy bussiness man/actor?

I see him as very set in his ways - probably not too different than Alex Rieger.

Hmmm, interesting I would agree, although it is hard to picture Judd as anything but the nice warm hearted Alex from Taxi.

According to The Taxi Book by Jeff Sorensen, Mr. Hirsch was not a very pleasant interviewee (is that a word? If not, it is now!!). Not surprisingly, the bubbliest and most enthusiastic cast member interviewed was the one and only Marilu Henner. :D

Thanks for the info Monika! That is all news to me. I guess Judd Hirsch wasn't much like Reiger after all. lol

He was well-liked by most of the cast - in fact, he and Marilu had a thing going on in real life for awhile during the time the show was originally on.

Didn't she also date Tony Danza & Jeff Conaway?

She did date Tony Danza briefly, when they first started filming but they parted as friends before the first episode aired. I don't think she ever dated Jeff Conaway.

Oh ok, I was about to say, Poor Andy (Kaufman) was left out of the party!

Well, Danny DeVito was happily involved with (and would later marry) Rhea Perlman, who did a few episodes as Zena Sherman, Louie's one-time girlfriend. Have no idea what Christopher Lloyd's romantic status was at the time. Getting back to Jeff Conaway, I think he was already married to (or at least dating) Olivia Newton-John's sister Rona, whom he met while she visited her sister on the set of Grease. Jeff, of course, played Kenickie and went right from Grease to Taxi.

I'm not positive, but I think Grease was filmed throughout most of 1977 and was released in 1978, the same year Taxi first went into production. Anyone is welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.

You are probably right Monika, I always assumed Taxi came first because I watched Taxi before I ever saw Grease.

Grease came out in the summer of 1978 and Taxi premiered in the fall of 1978.

I think Andy had a girlfriend at that time, but I'm not positive.
