It took The Walt Disney Company quite awhile to find their legs after the deaths of Walt Disney (1966) and Roy O. Disney (1971). In fact, it wasn't until Michael Eisner, Frank Wells and Jeffrey Katzenberg were brought on board that Disney began producing films on-par with that of what they were doing during the "golden-era."

Which is your favorite Disney animated film of the past 45 years?

Voted for Robin Hood, always been a favorite since I was a kid.

Disney have made some really good movies through the years. I voted for "Beauty and The Beast". I've always loved that one. And the latest 2D film "The Princess and The Frog" was really good too.

I just got the Diamond Edition Beauty and the Beast blu-ray. It's fantastic, not only because of the gorgeous new HD transfer, but because of the nearly four hours(!) of documentary footage on disc two. Highly recommended!

I can't wait until The Lion King comes out this fall.

Although I remember liking Robin Hood, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hercules, Tarzan, Fantasia 2000, and The Emperor's New Groove, Oliver & Company is the one I voted for.

IMO, it gets no respect whatsoever. Sure, it's not a masterpiece, but it's nowhere near as bad as many movie critics have made it out to be, and if hadn't been for its success (not as successful as The Land Before Time, which opened on the same day, though), Disney would never have gone back to making animated feature length films on an annual basis. Easily one of the most underrated Disney films of all time. It also doesn't help that Disney took their sweet time in releasing it on home video, and it wasn't until 1996, that it finally did.

Plus, it has Billy Joel as the voice of Dodger, not to mention one of the most 80's Disney soundtracks of all time. They didn't call it "The First Disney Movie with Attitude" for no reason.

I chose "The Little Mermaid" because...I really like Ariel, she's sooooo hot IMO.

You're not alone. I also voted for "Oliver and Company." Great cast, great
music .. and, besides, I'm a dog lover (which is why "Lady and the Tramp"
is my favorite pre-1970 Walt Disney cartoon). It wasn't an easy decision,
though, because the Disney studio has produced some great movies since
1989 (starting with "The Little Mermaid"), and (of course) some classics
between 1937 and 1967 (from "Snow White" to "The Jungle Book").

I have a soft spot in my heart for Oliver & Company, too. It was one of the first movies I remember going to see without my parents.

Another underrated Disney Film is The Black Cauldron.

When Disney was re-releasing most of their films over the years this one was not updated due to its dark content and lack of popularity.

The Fox and The Hound is my all time favorite. I also really like The Sword In The Stone, The Rescuers, Robin Hood and The Black Cauldron.

Hercules and Beauty and the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast is a classic.

Hercules is underrated.
