View Full Version : Rate Beverly Ann
angel676 12-29-2001, 06:41 PM On a rate from 1 - 10, how would you rate
the character Beverly Ann?
I give Beverly Ann a 6. She was a so-so
character, but she didn't mix well with
the girls like Mrs. Garrett did.
Mr. Stefani 12-29-2001, 10:57 PM i HATED her in FOL....But she was funny as hell in Malcom in the middle, and i just saw her in the new show shes in"ellen" and she was funny....so she gets a 9
I gave Bev a seven. I don't think she interacted with the girls nearly as well as Mrs. G did, but some of those 'airhead' moments of hers when she was totally clueless and told dumb stories were hilarious!
ks
Kay Scarpetta 12-30-2001, 11:45 AM I give her an 8. I was like this -> :rotflmao: when she was in Malcolm in the Middle, and she was good in "Double Double Toil and Trouble" but I didn't like her in FOL.
Warm & Fuzzy 12-30-2001, 10:43 PM I would have to say eitehr a 6 or 7
80s Dude 04-09-2020, 01:19 PM Ok, how do modern day posters rank Beverly Ann?
'80sSitcoms 04-09-2020, 01:24 PM Hmm, poll closed (who closes polls??) so we'll have to make a new one. Probably with word choices instead of numbers.
valentina warner 04-09-2020, 08:38 PM Please don't get me started on BEVERLY ANN, but if i have to give points to the later season characters, here is my choice:
1. KEVIN = 1 point (he's a dummy and has no acting qualities)
2. GEORGE = 2 points (regular acting on FOL, sorry but he was definitely better on ER!)
3. ANDY = 3 points (that kid kind of annoyed me, but he's acting was good)
4. BEVERLY ANN = 4 points (let's be a little fair on her: she did have her amusing moments!)
5. PIPPA = 6 points (i think it's fair to say that she was the best one out of all of them
with her 'Aussie' accent and her great sense of humour)
How did i do?
PS: i think cfr1970 is going to be in chock to find out i gave BEVERLY ANN some points ha ha!

I am kind of shocked because I thought you despised her! Maybe she does have some redeeming qualities and after all, she's Mrs. G's sister so she can't be all that bad. Is she the baby or older sister to Edna?
We need a new Beverly poll and i'll vote on her after I see her 2 seasons coming up. And i'll try to be nice to her.
Kevin gets 0 points for going through the girls dirty panties when they were out. That's just too creepy and disgusting. Actually he gets negative points for that. :nonono:puke:
Andy I give 8 points. He's always nice and respectful to the group and Mrs. G likes him.
George gets zero points. His character is unneeded and completely useless to the show. :bash:
Pippa I have to wait for, but if valentina likes her she must be ok.:wave::banana:

You really crack me up cfr1970!:D
Poor GEORGE and KEVIN! (zero point for zero acting ha ha!)
I suppose i could give ANDY 6 points since he's cute and sweet (but then PIPPA gets 8 lol)
And yes, i'll wait your verdict on BEVERLY ANN and i'm very curious....

PS: in real life CHARLOTTE RAE and CLORIS LEACHMAN were the same age, but on the show BEVERLY ANN is definitely older (remember how MRS G always said she was the youngest child at the farm);););)

Wow, I just looked and see that Cloris Leachman will be 94 in 3 weeks! I hope she's in good health.
So Mrs. G is the baby sister. I would've guessed the other way around since Mrs. G is all knowing and was such a great teacher to her girls. But I guess it makes sense since Beverly looks a good 10 years older.:lol::lol:
Lorimar Television 04-09-2020, 09:37 PM Pippa??? I think you’re gonna be on your own with that one

I'll have to wait till I finish the whole series to make a good decision on her. I think it was Christopher who said she was great in season 8 but terrible in season 9. So I have to see both before I decide how many points to give her.
Pippa comes in season 9 so i'll have to wait for that too. Just from her hairstyle on the dvd cover here on this site at the top of the page she already gets a 2 lol. But I promise to be fair!:happyface
cfr1970 04-09-2020, 09:46 PM remember how MRS G always said she was the youngest child at the farm
Mrs G is older in the show ;)
Now i'm confused! :wallbang
RetroGuy2000 04-09-2020, 09:52 PM Yeah, Mrs. G does say she was the youngest, right around the time that Tootie says "milk and cookies for the little baby", so that would have been in "Gossip", a classic Lost Girls episode of Season Two.
valentina warner 04-09-2020, 09:53 PM Mrs G is older in the show ;)
But hang on a minute: how come MRS G always said she was the youngest of her siblings at the farm then? (and now you say she was older than BEVERLY ANN?):confused::confused:

BEVERLY ANN was not 10 years older than MRS G (maybe 3) so you just being harsh!!!!:lol::lol:

Only in looks. :lol::lol:
Mrs. G definitely looked younger than Beverly Ann. No question. And no offense to Cloris, but Beverly had an old lady look to her. 🧓

It's not that she was terrible in season 9. She just doesn't have a point being there. The writing in season 9 had the girls so busy on themselves that they don't interact with Beverly Ann. All Beverly Ann does that season is come in with a few lines and goes away. It's disappointing seeing that because in season 8 she had a great bond with the girls. She had a purpose in the show. A lot of things changed in season 9.
And when you get to Pippa, I'm curious to see if you get the same feeling I do about the treatment she gets from the core 4. Pippa gets isolated a lot from the girls. They don't treat her as a friend. They treat her as a pest and tell her to leave whenever they're doing their girl talk. That's not how Mrs. Garrett was with the girls when they were kids so I don't understand why they have the core four acting like jerks to a girl who is trying to bond with them.

You're absolutely right once again: the 'Core of 4' were not very friendly to PIPPA (from what i can remember), they even treated her like a kid, when she was only a little younger than TOOTIE lol!:eek::eek:

I've yet to see any of this, but if i'm only going by what you say above, I can't really fault the core four for their treatment. This girl is like 12? 13? The group are all about 20 or over by this point and really have nothing in common with a teen girl.
Their kind of girl talk is much more adult than Pippa's kind of girl talk, so I can understand that. From what i've read here, this Pippa person was just thrust onto the group and it's so damn weird.
I get she goes to Eastland, but that place is a boarding school where all students live on the grounds. The ONLY exception was the core four and Mrs. G had to get school permission to have the girls live off campus with her.
So now we're to believe Pippa can just enroll at Eastland and live over a store too? It just doesn't fly but i'm only going by what's been read here, so I have to see it myself when it airs.
(Now I have to stay off this thread because I saw the big "MAJOR SPOILER" warning by Lorimar LOL)
I won't peek!! :lol::lol:

PIPPA is not 12 or 13: she's 16 or 17 by the time she arrives (so barely younger than TOOTIE) and even if she were, the 'Core of 4' were always protective over ANDY who was only 11 when he arrived lol!:confused::confused:

There is more to the Pippa story, but I won't spoil it for you.
By the time Mrs. G. left Eastland to open up Over Our Heads (was she inspired by Molly's mom), Blair and Jo would have already graduated and only Natalie and Tootie were left at Eastland.
Lorimar Television 04-10-2020, 09:41 PM Haha sorry Cfr
Fallon97 04-13-2020, 01:49 AM I liked Beverly Ann. I rate her as a 10. I liked her and Ms. Garrett as sisters.
