"General Hospital's" Luke and Laura Reunite on "Oprah"

The soap-oriented "Oprah Winfrey Show" will air on Wednesday, Feb. 9, and the big news is that the show will include an appearance by the most famous soap supercouple of all time, "General Hospital's" Luke and Laura.



That's right, Anthony Geary and Genie Francis are the main attraction for the hour that will also include "All My Children's" Debbi Morgan (Angie), Michael E. Knight (Tad), Darnell Williams (Jesse) and, naturally, Susan Lucci (Erica).


Also, the grand dame of daytime, Jeanne Cooper, who plays Katherine on "The Young and the Restless", will be a guest.





All the actors, except Genie Francis, are currently appearing on their shows.

Francis's character, Laura, is living in Paris, though her longtime love, Luke, is still cavorting in Port Charles (only now he's married to Tracy Quartermaine).

It was a nice show. It was great seeing Luke and Laura together again. Genie Francis said she'd consider coming back to the show if her character were written as a stronger person. I agree with her. Who wants to keep playing a victim over and over again?
