Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she was offered a spot on Saturday Night Live in the early 1990s.

While appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, the actress recalled being scouted by SNL showrunner Lorne Michaels but turning down the opportunity to appear on the NBC sketch comedy series in order to join the cast of Friends.

"They were like, 'You're so stupid'," she remembered. "They thought I was making a huge mistake. [But Friends] did alright."

Asked what advice she would give to her 20-year-old self, Aniston replied: "Enjoy it. No fretting.

"This is a really wonderful thing we get to do. I'd say, 'Listen when people tell you how much joy you bring them'."

Wow, I had no idea! I think she made the right decision, even though there have been a lot of stars that have gotten their start on SNL. Sadly most of them are now in really BAD movies. Oh wait...

yea, I read that. She also hated that hairstyle she had in the first season that was nicknamed "the Rachel"

she was on the early FOX sketch comedy The Edge before that - she was actually pretty funny on it, this was before her nose job too so she looked really different.

...and just because she had talked to Lorne Michaels about being on SNL doesn't necessarily mean she would've become a feature player - potential cast members don't always make it as regulars, and some of them don't last at all.

I definitely made the right decision by turning SNL down. I really don't think she had the talent for the show. SHe would have been stuck as a feature player and dropped after one season. JA seems very one dimensional to me.
