As Mike, Gloria, and Joey prepare to move to California, Edith prepares a fantastic going-away dinner for their last night together. And then the Meat Head accepts a dinner invitation from his future boss.
After years of living off Archie's generosity, Mike breaks Edith's heart, a big fight ensues, and Part 1 of "The Dinner Guest" ends on an ugly note.
And not only that, Mike says that the Three Stooges aren't funny.

Well I dunno how I feel about that ep. There SHOULD have been another solution though.
I mean it WAS Mike's boss so it might not have looked good for his career if he had not gone. It looks like they could have had another meal with Archie and Edith before they left.

The point was that Mike was already hired and it sounded like a last minute thing so all Mike had to do was tell his boss right away that they had previous arrangements with family because he already knew that Edith was doing all that cooking. that dinner was not a basis for hiring him so it shouldn't have been that big of a deal, but as with everything else, Mike thought of nothing but himself.
