TV Land is beyond confusing. What is with getting rid of Married with Children, bringing it back and then getting rid of it again? Does it do well or doesn't it? The same goes for Boston Legal. Why air it if you're only going to get rid of it the following month? Also, airing six episodes of Bewitched on the weekends makes you think it is doing well, but yet it isn't airing at all on the weekdays?

I think it does well for TV Land. For some reason, unlike other Viacom shows, it can't be shared between networks for very long. Is there no way the contract can be modified?

I don't understand this schedule either. The Nanny is so out of place in the morning. And if they are wanting younger viewers in primetime, why air Sanford and Son, their oldest skewing show, for 2 hours every night?

I would have moved Sanford and Son to 6PM-7PM. I never thought All in the Family was a hit in primetime for them. Strange it's just for a week.

8-9PM needs to be a 90s show. JMO.

That's why it's a classic. It doesn't matter if it's 100 yrs. old if it's funny it's funny good comedy never die, it's there for generation to laugh. I'm in my 30's and I'm a big fan of the Honeymooners and Sanford and Son, I grew up looking at these classics with my parents and other classics as well.

Why won't they move HiC out of Wednesdays at 10? The show is falling apart at that timeslot in the winter. Beats me why they insist on airing every original show then; this is not The Cougar or Harry Loves Lisa! I know it will do a little better in the summer, but I still think it needs to be moved to another night and another time (Thursdays at 9?). Should have been moved weeks ago.

I don't know if anything could help Retired at 35 though, that show is starting to get irritating.

Don't think Wednesday at 10pm has anything to do with the ratings suffering. Much more original competition from Sept-May than the summer.

On Saturday and Sunday mornings, there is NOTHING on TVLand.-And I DO mean NOTHING.(Yeah,I know there is "Roseanne" and "The Nanny",and I know, some people like these shows)Why, on those 2 days,do they air 10 episodes of "The Nanny"in the morning.back to back?Remember the days when they had only ONE episode of "Green Acres","The Addams Family","Mr.Ed","The Munsters","Bewitched","The Dick Van Dyke Show",etc, all with full-screen (sometimes)credits? That made Saturday and Sunday Morning TV worth watching. Now,it's nothing.

Don't think Wednesday at 10pm has anything to do with the ratings suffering. Much more original competition from Sept-May than the summer.Yeah, the key will be if the viewers come back. This season so far has been pretty important to the storyline. As much as I wish it would, I don't see it getting the numbers this summer that it got last. I still think 10pm is a little late for an original sitcom, it's not like they don't have anywhere else to put it.

I remember when they also showed Carol Burnett and Flip Wilson on weekend mornings. I always looked forward to that, because they kind of "buried" a lot of the older shows that weren't ratings hits then.

HIC renewed for a 22-episode 3rd season, premiering next winter I guess: http://www.deadline.com/2011/02/tv-land-renews-comedy-hot-in-cleveland-for-third-season/

I hope we hear news on the other pilots that were shot recently. I'm hoping the one with Fran Drescher and the one with Sherri Shepherd get picked up.

TV LAND PICKS UP CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED HIT SITCOM

“HOT IN CLEVELAND” FOR THIRD SEASON,

ORDERING 22 BRAND NEW EPISODES

Season Three To Begin Production Summer 2011

Los Angeles, CA, February 28, 2011 -- TV Land announced today that its smash hit sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland,” will return for a third season with 22 episodes to begin shooting this summer. The sitcom, which garnered unprecedented ratings not only for the network but across cable, continues to be a huge success scoring a strong 1.6 among TV Land’s target Adults 25-54 audience, a 2.0 among Women 25-54 and an average of 3.2 million total viewers. The sitcom remains the highest-rated and most-watched series in the history of the network and was recently nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards® including: Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series – Betty White, which Ms. White won.

“The chemistry that this cast has with each other is undeniable so we are excited to bring ‘Hot in Cleveland’ back for another season,” said Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. “Our viewers will be thrilled with all that is in store for next season – amazing storylines, smart and hilarious writing and even more beloved guest stars!”

“Hot in Cleveland” revolves around three fabulous best friends from LA – novelist Melanie Moretti, eye-brow archer to the stars Joy Scroggs and former soap star Victoria Chase – who find their lives changed forever when their plane, headed for Paris, makes an unexpected landing. When the friends discover that life is better for them and that they are hot in Cleveland, they decide to stay. Starting over together, they rent a house that happens to come with a very opinionated caretaker.

Filmed in front of a live studio audience, “Hot in Cleveland” is executive produced by Emmy® Award-winner Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills Productions and is helmed by Emmy® Award-winning Suzanne Martin (“Frasier,” “Ellen”) serving as executive producer, show runner and writer. Lynda Obst also serves as executive producer.

Earlier this year, the show was distributed by Endemol in Australia, Canada, Germany, Turkey and the UK among others.

Well if that isn't a slap in the face to classic TV, I don't know what is

That's sick. They don't care about classic TV. The only show I watch on TV Land is HIC anyway.

Well if that isn't a slap in the face to classic TV, I don't know what isObviously last weekend's schedule (without MWC) was a flop. I thought it was one of their better weekend schedules actually.

And, as I predicted, we watch another classic join Leave It to Beaver on the list of shows that they have the rights to but will likely never air again. Pathetic. I wonder what makes I Dream of Jeannie different.

I wonder what makes I Dream of Jeannie different.

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if I Dream of Jeannie actually does better in the ratings than Bewitched, or if they just randomly picked a classic show to remove to replace with The Nanny. Regardless, I Dream of Jeannie by itself without Bewitched is just silly. I don't know why they couldn't have rearranged the morning schedule to include all three shows.

Something like this:

10 Roseanne
11 The Nanny
12 I Dream of Jeannie
1 Bewitched

Bonanza doesn't need that many airings.

It's really sad that TV Land is constantly trying to reinvent itself by coming up with new (and stupid) ideas to bring in ratings. What a train wreck of a network.

Bonanza doesn't need that many airings. And what's even stranger is that historically, Bewitched has done better for them. I don't understand.

They can't run Roseanne except for 7PM-7AM, I believe (Oxygen has daytime rights). If they have to air something recent in the morning, I'd like to see Home Improvement get a slot. They don't really need those extra AITF/S&S times in the morning.

I don't even think they care about ratings except for how Hot In Cleveland does.I've mentioned it before, and I'll mention it again ,TVLand like many other tv stations just add the cheapest garbage to put in between thousands of commercials daily. They do not care anymore if their station is viewed or not ,as long as they can keep selling commercial time---that's ALL that matters to them.
