Definitely the Michael Landon version of Little House from the 70's/early 80's. My family watched that show every Monday night. It was one of the few shows that whole family watched together. They told good stories and they told them very well. And the cast was very likable.

As for me,I feel the same way you do.I liked the original NBC series version with the late Michael Landon a LOT better than the 2000's ABC movies(They may have stuck closer to the books, than the show, but one key element was missing from the movies-the series was FUN and made you feel good)The movies were kind of mean-spirited.I don't think the books were ever that way.

the nbc show sure it was overacted and sometimes looked more like a parody of the books but that was part of its charm i will take michael landon;s semi parody any day over the abc reailistic one

I didn't even realize that there were Little House movies made by ABC. But I think that everyone's image of Laura Ingalls Wilder is Melissa Gilbert and no one else can take her place. The original is a true classic!

Yeah, the LHOP remake aired in early 2005 and only lasted a few weeks. Rightfully so, I might add.

I love the Michael Landon version of 'Little House', especially when the Olesons were featured.
