Okay... not exactly an UM. but the story interested me when I caught a blurb on the news recently. Rodney Alcala was featured on "The dating game". think "The Bachelor" of the 1970's. ;) off the bat the female contestant and the gameshow's host said he had a vibe about him that wasn't quite right. it turns out they were right.

This freak is alleged to have to killed somewhere between 50 or more females in the late 60's/early 70's. he would tie them up, choke them until they passed out, sexually assault them, and wake them up and start the process all over again. :( not exactly sure why people thought he was "sexy" even by 1970's standards. dude looked like Kenny G!

In all seriousness thought I hope this scumbag is executed soon. this douche is working as his own Laywer right now. this creeper was convicted for rape of an 8 year old girl before appearing on the gameshow. why he was ever let back on the streets I'll never know...

Actually, there is still an intriguing unsolved mystery element to this case. Police found over 100 photographs in one of Rodney Alcala's storage lockers (some of which featured nude women) and have been working ever since trying to find out who the people in these photographs are. It's possible some of them might be other victims of his that simply haven't been found yet. For all we know, there could be some missing people or unidentified Jane Does in here:

BTW, shame on "The Dating Game" for not performing a proper background check and letting this guy appear on the show when he was a registered sex offender and had served prison time for raping an 8-year old girl  !

Hindsight is 20/20, but I don't think the contestant's claim could possibly be true. She picked him! If she felt something was off, she probably didn't get that feeling until after the fact.

Also, he will not be executed soon because he's on death row in California. They have a notoriously long appeals process. He will probably die of natural causes before he is executed.

They have a 48 Hours episode that you can watch on the CBS website about him. Very disturbing...
