Adam Sandler is reportedly being lined up to play an 800lb character in a project with the tentative title Fat Man.

First Showing states that a "touching and beautifully written" spec script for the film has caught the attention of Youth In Revolt director Miguel Arteta, who claims that Sandler is "flirting with" the idea of taking star billing.

He gushed: "I'd love to do a movie with Adam Sandler that... someone said he was flirting with? It's called Fat Man. I don't know if you've heard about this? [Mike Reiss], one of the main writers of The Simpsons wrote the script and it's amazing.

"He would play an 800lb guy who has a love affair between him and his nurse. And he's naked for the first half of the film... and it's very touching... and it's very funny. So I hope he gets the gumption to do it, and maybe I get a crack at that, that would be amazing. Certainly, it would be not a movie you would forget anytime soon... and [it's] beautifully written."

The website adds that the script is believed to have first circulated in 2003, when it was picked up by Sandler's production company Happy Madison.

According to Larry King in his "Conan" interview, Adam Sandler will be in a movie where he plays a guy AND his sister. Al Pacino plays a guy crazy in love with Adam's female character.

Larry said this like it was a big hilarious thing but it sounds awful to me.

No he's not another Eddie Murphy, he's had more hits than Eddie. You're forgetting Martin, who is in all the Big Momma movies. They're all very different movies.

No...

Adam Sandler is more crude and cruel than Eddie Murphy.
