I say nay, I personally don't like him with the beard. I think he looked better without it. With the beard he reminds me of Kenny Loggins. LOL!

What's up Curtis?!!!!!! Actually- I say yay, I think the beard suits him, even though I wouldn't want to marry a guy who has a beard- LOL.

Hey Paula!!!!!!! ;) I've been looking all over the boards for you!! I was scared something happened! LOL! :) Ewwwww....I didn't really like the beard though. I just think he looked better w/o it. He also looked cool as a hippie with that long black wig. LOL.

Hi Curtis....I'm still here! I just got kind of bored with the Chit-Chat board and some of the other boards. Plus the Christmas holidays and trying to catch up on my writing kept me busy. And I just came back from a short trip to Reno, NV. It's beautiful there at Christmas time!

Anyway, I don't think I'll ever totally disappear, but feel free to e-mail me when you don't see me at the boards.

I Say yay. He kinda does look like Kenny Logging but I say the beard is that certain thing that kinda connects Micheal Gross to the show

Yea, the thing is that when FT first started in 1982, I was still watching The Smurfs and other cartoons, and hadn't caught up to sitcoms just yet- LOL. So I didn't start watching FT till like the 3rd or 4th season...when Steve Keaton already had his beard. So I just got accustomed to seeing him with the beard. Then when I started watching reruns of the first season where he didn't have the beard, I thought he looked "naked" w/out it....I still think he does.

My early memories are him with he beard, so when I saw the reruns all the years later where he was clean, it looked odd to me.

The beard is very different now. When he did Fox's final Spin City he had it, but it was very full and white like Santa.

I'm not sure. He has the beard most of the time, and it does kinda connect him with the show. Then again he looks better without it.

I say "yay". Without the beard he looks like a Shakesperean actor.

He looked naked and starving without the beard. Like a plucked chicken. But with the beard he was Sean Conery. hope i spelled his name right. Watch the show that alex rents rooms in the house to the sports fans. And then watch how angry Steven gets. So without that beard he would not have that same effect.

definitely YAY...

he looks SO much better in my opinion with the beard. Yes he does look like Kenny Loggins but hello..this was the 80s..Kenny was God of 80s movies soundtracks! LOL

Yeah he didn't look right to me w/o the beard, something was missing...

I always thought he was quite attractive for an older man ;)...but he was no Alex..:D

Personally, I preferred him minus beard. If you see a picture of him from the 1st year, he kinda resembles my uncle Jerry. I'm serious!

He looks like a real man with the beard, not some weak cheesy milktoast. Grow the beard i say!

I haven't read every post, so if this has already been said I apologize, but I think the beard made him seem like more of a serious actor. Without the beard he seemed to act alot more goofy.

LOL! I agree. He looks like a shaved sheepdog without a beard. In other words - He looks wrong.

If there was EVER a guy who looked better with a beard , it was M Gross... without the beard, he has a big nose and a hooked chin, looked weasley , with it, he looked distinguished

I prefer him with the beard. It's probably just because he had it for six of the seven seasons, so I'm more used to it, but when I see him without the beard, it looks odd.
