Since the new UM is back on Lifetime...and may be back on Spike TV, I can never keep up with them...anyway, have any cases been solved since? I know most of them are cold cases, but I was just wondering if it's been helping or if any new information or leads have been coming in.

Hasn't UM been cancelled all together now? I heard they were not going to bring the Spike program back, thus there's only reruns now. I would much prefer it if Lifetime would go back and just reair the Stack episodes.

I don't know if it was cancelled or not, but I too wish they would just re-air the Stack shows, with someone else doing the updates (one of the producers perhaps). As to any updates based off the new UM, I don't think so. I think the updates profiled on the new UM (that were absent from the old) were just based off of persistant police work and advances in technology over the actual new UM broadcast since the new UM had nothing NEW to offer in the first place. It was Farina reciting word for word just about everything Stack said.

I don't really have a problem with Farina doing the episodes or them being modernized, but if they are going to do it I don't see why they don't activate the 1-800 number again.

It seems none of them stand a good chance when you have this kind of attention to detail going on. From unsolved.com:

Shotgun Survivor
A North Carolina woman is shot in the face, but still manages to survive.

Gender: Male
DOB: 1975 approx.
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 150 to 160 lbs.
Hair: Black

Notice the approximate DOB. The attack on "Debbie" occured in March 1990. That would put the perpetrator at 14-15 years old at the time.

Agreed.

I wish they'd re-air the Robert Stack episodes as well. Since they've stopped making new episodes, I don't see why they can't do that...

They had an update on the Deborah Poe segment for Spike's UM, but it still didn't solve the case. They found the killers of one of the other "graveyard shift" clerk-ladies featured in the Poe segment (Donna Callahan) and showed headshots of the guys, but authorities don't believe they were involved in Poe's disappearance.

Also, the thing about "Megadeth" guy, but that's been discussed in some other threads and I'm afraid if I write anymore about it in this thread it will spark another-"Megadeth" abducted her!/"Megadeth" didn't abduct her!-debate that lasts for pages and pages.

Yeah Megadeth became a success because of Unsolved Mysteries!

Megadeth did it and here's why...

I remember back in the late 90s/early 2000s, when Lifetime aired 2 and 3 hour blocks in the mornings (in my time zone at least), when they had updates on old stories, it was typed out onscreen, with no voice-over. I remember a couple of these being kinda creepy, cause they had the eerie theme music playing in the background.

I think they air the newer versions because a lot of first-time viewers will think it's a new show....I miss the Robert Stack ones, if they re-ran those I think they'd have a lot more episodes in rotation. Although I'm glad to have the Farina remakes on, then no version at all on. It sucked all that time from when Lifetime quit airing it to when Spike brought it back.
