Are you using the red white and yellow audio/video cables or a coaxial cable?

The DVR should have the cables in the OUT and the VCR is the IN (basically the Through).

Then the VCR cables that are OUT should go to the IN on your TV.

I have verizon fios tv

Ok, I'm not all familiar with Verizon fios tv. Does the service run through a receiver or is connected directly into the tv?

Depending on your DVR some have outputs for audio and video which can go directly to your audio in and video in on your VCR.

Some VCRs have no input or output for the yellow so you might have to use the red and white cables.

Also check your TV's line in by using your remote control as you might need to hit the button for L2 also called line in 2 also try that on your VCR as well.

Try your TV remote and hit the line in/out button while the TV and VCR are on you will have it right when you can see what you are watching.

That is how mine works.

Is it really necessary to keep bumping the thread? That's twice today and 3 of us have tried to help you. I'm still waiting on an answer to the question I asked earlier. Does Verizon fios use a receiver or does the signal go directly to your tv? I'd like to help and I'm sure the others that have responded would to and the more info you can provide would be helpful.

Any electronics retailer should have them but you can get them much cheaper on eBay.
