I have to admit, Rosie was my least favorite character on the Jetsons. Just the sound of her voice was like figer nails on a chalkboard for me. Anybody else agree?

Rosie was The Jetsons' answer to Hazel, so voice actress Jean Vander Pyl provided her with a voice based on Shirley Booth's. Like her inspiration, she is an acquired taste. Having seen the sitcom Hazel (which, I admit, was not one of my favorite shows)--based on Ted Key's
comic strip--the voice didn't really bother me. OT: the Hazel cartoon is, I think, much better than the sitcom. The same could be said for Dennis
the Menace, though that show was better than Hazel, before Jay
North outgrew the role.

Yes.It wouldn't be the same without Rosie.Remember the 1962-1963 ORIGINAL ABC series episode when they first got her? That episode had a lot of good gags to it,especially when Mr.Spacely came to dinner(later on in the episode,he happily approved of George and Jane getting her)said, when George said, when Rosie said "Come and Get It"George said,"Oh,that's the dinner bell",and Spacely says, perplexed ,"A Dinner Bell that goes Come and Get It?"LOL

That's interesting that Rosie was inspired by Hazel. I never thought of or realized that!

I like Rosie. I guess if George got really annoyed with her, he could always sell her for scrap metal.

I liked Rosie too, especially since Jean also voiced Wilma Flintstone.
