As a kid watching the show, I always watched the opening credits carefully to see if Batgirl would zoom across the screen. That meant that Yvonne Craig would be a part of that episode. Anyone else a fan of the 'Batgirl' episodes?

Yeah, as a kid I liked Batgirl, and I loved her Batcycle. As I get older I can see why some say that third season was easily the weakest of the three. The villains weren't too potent and the scripts were quite bla.
If they'd have let her do more, it would have been better but TV standards at the time only allowed her to do the "high kicks" and little else. But I did think Craig did a great job with a more or less thankless role.

I watched it on channel 56 every day at 3:30. Monday-Thursday, they'd air the two parters. On Fridays, they'd air one of the third season Batgirl episodes because they were mostly stand alone episodes and they wouldn't have to have a cliffhanger over the weekend.
I liked the Batgirl episodes.

...Yvonne Craig was a full-fledged co-star in season three (1967-'68), and featured in every episode [and if NBC had acted more quickly, she would have continued in season four...minus Burt Ward {Robin} and Stafford Repp {Chief O'Hara}, in a projected effort to drastically trim the production budget had "BATMAN" moved to NBC in the fall of '68].
The only reason "Batgirl" was introduced was to revitalize sagging ratings- very few TV series tumbled from "must-see viewing" in its first season, to quiet cancellation in its third. A great idea, but more viewers were watching "DANIEL BOONE" {one 20th Century-Fox series sapping the life out of another one!} on NBC that season- and CBS' "CIMARRON STRIP" had its share of loyal viewers- so ABC just "cut their losses" after the final first-run episode in March 1968 (no repeats). Too bad.
