Hacker on Gomer Pyle, and Sam Franklin (aka Sam the butcher) on the Brady Bunch. However he did not play the Sgt. on Gallant Men. That role was played by Richard X. Slattery.

I appreciate both of your answers. I was in college during Archie Bunker's heyday, and I've only seen a few episodes. My wife and I are watching it on Youtube, and we think the show is rip-roaring hilarious.

He also played Robs army buddy Sol Pomerantze, on some flashback episodes of "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" replacing Marty Ingalls who played the role in two first season episodes. ("OH, HOW WE MET THE NIGHT THAT WE DANCED" & "SOL AND THE SPONSOR")

And, in the first season episode "HARRISON B. HARDING OF CAMP CROWDER, MISSOURI" he played another old army buddy of Robs (it wasn't a flashback episode, though).
