Came across this on the Americas Most Wanted website while researching other cases. Would make a perfect little segment for Unsolved Mysteries if only they would air FRESH, NEW segments on the Spike version...

That would make a great segment. I wonder if anyone else will have cases to add to this thread, it's a cool thread idea :D

Not sure how much coverage it's received outside of Chicagoland, but the Drew Peterson-Stacy Peterson case would be a good one, methinks. You have a prime suspect/husband (who's a cop to boot), a young pretty wife who's missing without a trace, and interesting back-story that Drew's previous wife died under mysterious circumstances (he's now been charged with her murder); Stacy's mother is also a missing person; and you have local LE incompetence and/or corruption.

You are right about the Peterson case. This brings up a great question....Why does the Spike/Farina Unsolved Mysteries not air new "unsolved mystery" cases. It just re-airs the old Robert Stack segments with Farina's voice over. What's the point of that? It's not like "unsolved mysteries" cases stopped happening once Robert Stack passed away.
Another topic that will be explored on the "Unsolved Mysteries" podcast I am working on...
