Does the tv shut off no matter if you turn it on manually or with the remote?

Yes it does,Eventaly the tv stays on after a trying and trying, It happens when I shut the tv off for a extended amount of time, if I can get to stay on I;m going to keep the tv 24/7 until I get a new one sometime next week\

Ok, I had a tv that wouldn't stay on when I used the remote, turned out to be an issue with the sensor and it wasn't worth it to get it fixed. That's probably a good idea to just leave it on. Are you going to get rid of the Sony once you get another one?

Yes I'm, Is there a trick that I can use to get the tv to come on if I accidently turn it off

DR Becker said something about counting the flashes from the stand by light. what does mean

Ok, You might be able to sell it and at least get something out of it. If you can't sell it, you might consider donating it to Salvation Army or other thrift store and getting a tax receipt. The Goodwill stores in my area no longer accept tube tv's so you might want to call and ask if you're thinking of taking it there. As far as the flashes are concerned, I have no idea about that. I googled the model # you gave and saw that it's a Sony Wega. The company my brother works for sold those for a long time, I'll tell him about the problem you're having and maybe he can offer some advice.

Does it have a tube, as in it's an older tv? Tube might be going bad or the tv is just going bad

Yeah. Sounds like the TV showing its age. Unfortunately, they don't build them to last anymore. Seven years is a long life for a latter-generation Tube TV. This might be the perfect time to go HD!

I think alot of the modern technology they put in tv sets these days causes them to break down alot quicker. In the past it was quite common for people to have a good brand of tv set like a Sony or Panasonic last at least 10-15 years or even more with no problems.
