"Sarah Palin's Alaska" lovers, we have some bad news for you: last night's two-hour season 1 finale is most likely the final episode of the series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Palin and TLC have no plans to shoot a second season of the reality show, which followed the former Alaska governer-turned-vice presidential nominee and her family enjoying the Alaskan outdoors.

The show averaged about 3.2 million viewers per week, EW reports, but Palin didn't receive the greatest press for what some viewed as an hour-long campaign ad for an inevitable 2012 presidential run.

The decision to nix a second season could fuel those rumors even more, since now TLC won't need to consider equal airtime rules if she does run.

This week's two-hour episode featured Palin looking back on memorable moments from the first five installments of the series, including Kate Gosselin's ill-fated camping trip.

It's unusual(sort of)that Sarah Palin HERSELF ,in addition to TLC would call it quits on the show.Usually,it's a network that calls it quits on the show.

Seems like ratings were pretty strong for this type of show. I never watched it.

It was always only going to be a one shot deal. I never read that she was signing on for more than just an 8-hour documentary. Now that it's ending, the haters are making hay out of bs.
