Did his role as Henry Rush do enough not to be compared as Ted Baxter Or Ted Knight was and always will be Ted Baxter???

Yes I think there are several things that set Henry Rush apart from Ted Baxter. First his relationship with his daughters. Ted Baxter didn't become a father til late in the run of TMTMS. And since the Baxter's home life was never seen on that show we saw very little of Ted the father. Second Henry's wife was very different from Ted's wife. And third Henry's job as a cartoonist. If Henry Rush had worked in a job in any way related to news or broadcasting that would have certainly drawn comparison to Ted Baxter. So they were smart enough to give Henry Rush a job in a completely different and unrelated field.
