Dawn Breitenbucher (a.k.a. Lori Martin) died April 4, 2010, at the age of 62.
She was an actress since age 10 starring in the television series "National Velvet" as well as movies "Cape Fear" with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum and "The Chase" with Marlon Brando and Robert Redford.
She retired to Oakhurst and enjoyed nature, birds, wild animals and her puppy Taylor.

She is survived by her son Brett Breitenbucher; twin sister Doree Thompson Kelly and her husband Kevin; sister Jean Marek and her husband Raymond; brother Stephen Menzer and his wife Anne; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, April 30 at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, 39696 Highway 41 in Oakhurst.

The old National Velvet TV series is still popular in parts of the world, especially Australia where Lori was well-known. May her memory be eternal!

I only learned about Lori's passing in the past couple of weeks. So sorry to hear of it. I'm not sure why there wasn't more reporting on her death when it took place. I always liked the soft, sweet image she portrayed on "National Velvet". In some other roles, she was shown as boy crazy, etc. Of course, she also had some dramatic parts in films and on TV. R.I.P.

She was in a 'My Three Sons' episode with Jerry Mathers. They played a young married couple and Jerry had a mustache!

I was putting her name through a search engine and it took me to a website that is dedicated to her called "Lori Martin Lives Here". On that website is a link to the "Find A Grave' website which showed information about her life, her date of death, a couple of photos, etc.

She really had quite a bit of airtime in the My Three Sons episode she did with Jerry Mathers. They played apartment neighbors to Rob (Don Grady) and Katie (Tina Cole).
