Montel Williams was cited for packing a marijuana pipe at the airport in Milwaukee today ... according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.


Cops say TSA busted the former talk show host with a metal pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana ... as he went through security.

The pipe -- which was in his carry-on -- set off a metal detector. We're told there was no residue.

Montel is a long time advocate of medical marijuana -- which he uses to manage pain related to multiple sclerosis.

Montel was released after paying a $484 citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. The sheriff's department tells us Montel was very mellow cooperative.

Besides, due to his condition, wouldn't he have one of those cards that says he is allowed to use marijuana for medicinal purposes? You'd think he'd have all his bases covered.

I am not a fan of Montel Williams but what a waste of time. Taking him to court and so forth will be just a waste of money. Let him go.

You would think Montel would be smart enough to know about the heavy secuity at airports and the fact that smoking is not allowed on airplanes. He should have packed his pipe in his checked luggage instead of his carry on bag. :rolleyes:

I don't know enough about marijuana laws. Maybe pot cards aren't honored from state-to-state.

It would be interesting to see which states have them and which ones don't. I personally see no problem using pot for medicinal purposes, especially with debilitating diseases like MS. Recreational use is another story.
