On an old VHS tape I've had since the 1980s (recorded from the Disney Channel) there is a very early episode from Season 1. Ricky is very young and complains that he can't stay up at night. Ozzie lets him but ends up burning the candle at both ends; staying up late with Rick watching TV then getting up early to work out with David. Could this be the pilot, "The Rivals"?

I found an earlier thread about "The Rivals," so it is not that one. The only other guess I have is "Night School." It is clearly a very young Ricky and surely Season 1.

I'm not sure what the name of the episode is, but I know of it. While Ozzie gets all worn out there is no effect on Ricky staying up all night.. only to learn at the end that he was taking naps in the afternoon in the station wagon so he'd be able to stay up all night.

It could be from Season 2 episode number 52 Parential Guidence.

Thank you. I believe I am wrong that it's necessarily from Season 1 but certainly an early episode. You are correct that at the end of the show it's discovered that Ricky has been sleeping in the family car during the day to compensate for staying up late. David also gives up on waking early to lift weights which gives Ozzie a break from the routine.
