Those of you who have read my last message before this one know that it is about Helen Hunt's failed attempt to get the part of Katie Kinisky from "Gimme a Break!". As you can see, that thread now has twenty-eight views and zero replies. Well, I just thought of the perfect thing to write about to commemorate this event! Even though Helen did not get one of the starring roles in this show, she did get to be a one time guest. Up until midnight tonight, we will be twenty-eight years past the year that she appeared on that series! It was the season finalie of the first year of the show. Helen appeared as Katie's pregnant friend Valerie. The episode ended with Valeries giving birth to a boy. I believe that she named him David. Oh the memories!

The new baby was the baby boy born to Helen Hunt's character on the "Gimme a Break!" episodes of 1982. You see, after failing to get the part of the starring role of Katie Kinisky from that series, she got a one-time guest spot as Katie's pregnent friend Valerie. This was about a decade before she became Jamie Buchman from "Mad About You". I wonder if her one-time gig as Valerie was something that she put an her resume when she read for the part of Jamie! Maybe someday, Helen will write an autobiography and let us know the answer!
