Instantly familiar, Marcia Wallace has appeared on dozens of TV shows and celebrity game shows. Her blazing red hair is her trademark. She played teacher Mrs. Robbins in the "Davy Jones" episode of The Brady Bunch, and later a spot on Fantasy Island, but Wallace is best known for her role as Carol on The Bob Newhart Show. She also appeared on many game shows including Match Game '73, Hollywood Squares, Card Sharks, Password and The $10,000 Pyramid.

She only does the voice of Mrs. Krabappel on The Simpsons. Getting back to the original question, I think Ms. Wallace had/has great comic timing and can really deliver snappy remarks. She doesn't seem to get a whole lot of credit for that. I also recommend her autobiography:

I also saw her on an episode of Taxi playing herself. Latkka and Simka set up all the other cabbies on blind dates and Marcia Wallace was Rev Jim's blind date. All he wanted to do was ask her questions about The Bob Newhart Show (his favorite show) and she got more and more annoyed until she finally accepted the situation and made the best of it. I thought it was an excellent performance by Marcia.
