I don't think the genealogy of Sam's family is explained very well through out the series. OK, Endora and Maurice are her parents, Uncle Arthur is Endora's brother, and one episode reveals that Serena is from Sam's father's side of the family, (and yet she refer's to Arthur as "uncle") :confused:

Although I don't think it was revealed on the show, its been implied or assumed that Aunt Clara is Endora's older sister. :confused: I don't believe that. I think she must be from the generation back. But neither Endora or Maurice refer to her as "aunt", they both just call her Clara. And Hagatha and Enchantra, are they Endora's sisters? If Clara is the older sister of all of them, why are they so cruel to her, as if she's an outsider??:confused: :confused:

I never thought Sam's family tree was thouroghly explained either.

As to the issue of Maurice and Endora never calling Clara "aunt", she could still be their aunt. I never called any of my aunts or uncles "Aunt" this or "Uncle" that. Most people I know didn't do that. If my uncle's name was "Carl", I'd call him "Carl", etc.
