Cheryl Harrell 12-31-2001, 03:25 AM YOU GOT IT!!!! :)
I saw something in Freddies Moms book when looking thru it again that had me leaking & reaching for hankys. There was a pic of him that looks like when he was first on CATM & in it he's reading a comic book. I realized when seeing it that when he died he was just a young boy who read comic books.. So sad... :crying: :crying: I wonder if he realized how many people he'd make cry cuz he died.
I remembered that I had read somewhere that Jr loved to collect comic books & it hit me. No wonder! He got it from his daddy! Awww...
tylersmistress2002 12-31-2001, 10:20 AM After reading your post, I reached for my copy of the book. That picture of him reading the Spider Man Comic is so cute....the big smile, the dimples.....it IS an awakening when you think of it tho...he was still just a boy in man ways when he died. :(
Cheryl Harrell 12-31-2001, 10:38 AM Here is copy of that pic. It is the one of him reading comics. The others are cute too...
Cheryl Harrell 03-14-2002, 08:54 AM I found these 2 articles on JR that mention Daddy:
http://www.freddieprinzejr.com/print/1996/people.html
http://www.ilovefreddie.com/article_dolly02.html
LADY LOVES FREDDIE 03-14-2002, 12:20 PM Those are good articles Cheryl, Its such a sad way to find out the news about how his dad died.To have to hear it from a bully.Kids can be so cruel. Can you imagine saying such mean things to someone no matter how mad you are at that person? I cant.I wonder if that person who said that to Jr. has any remorce for being so mean.I would hope so. :(
Karen64 03-15-2002, 09:52 AM Thanks, Cheryl for sharing those articles!
Dad would be SO proud of his son!!!
Cheryl Harrell 05-11-2002, 05:28 AM I found out Freddie Prinze, Jr. is gonna be on the Rosie O'Donnell show on May 15. He better mention his daddy on there! :)
Cheryl Harrell 05-11-2002, 06:43 AM I found on AOL where you can download Freddie saying YOU"VE GOT MAIL, GOODBYE & WELCOME to replace the ones AOL has doing that. His voice isn't sexy on them like his dads tho. If your on AOL type in aol://4344:754.cvprinze.6721579.682977506 or copy it to bring it up...
I found this transcript of a
Chat with JR they had on AOL once:
AOL Live welcomed Freddie Prinze Jr., who chatted and answered questions about his roles in 'She's All That,' 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' his new film with Jessica Biel and Matthew Lillard called 'Summer Catch' and more. See what he had to say below!

*****************************************************
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Hello, everybody!
AOLiveMC12: Everyone! Freddie is in the house! Welcome to AOL Live, Freddie! Or should I call you Pie?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: That's an old nickname.
AOLiveMC12: That's an unusual nickname; how did you get it?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Nobody is allowed to call me that, actually. It's a family thing.
AOLiveMC12: Oops. :X Sorry about that. :)
Freddie Prinze Jr.: That's okay.
AOLiveMC12: The first question we have tonight is, we'd like to know what your most embarrassing high school moment was.
Freddie Prinze Jr.: My most embarrassing moment in high school was a girl name Elisa that I had a crush on, and she came over to my house one day, and while talking to her, I stepped backwards into a potted plant on the step, and then I yelled at her and told her to go home.
AOLiveMC12: Aw, well we've all done that. Sweettooth400 wants to know:
Question: Yes, we all know you’re taken by Sarah Michelle Gellar, but we all need to know anyway... what do you look for in a girl?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Honesty, sense of humor, self-confidence.
AOLiveMC12: And we have this question from our Kids Only area on AOL:
Question: From Nicole: Did you enjoy doing the film 'She's All That'? It's my fave film.
Freddie Prinze Jr.: I loved it. That was the first film that I made for that generation, and by far, it's my favorite!
AOLiveMC12: Llehsur asks:
Question: Hey, Freddie! How old were you when you started in the biz?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: I moved to LA when I was 18, and I got my first job when I was 19.
AOLiveMC12: JLang009 asks:
Question: You are working with Sarah on the movie for ‘Scooby-Doo.’ Is that a good experience, getting to spend all of that time with her?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: It’s a wonderful experience! She's a great actress, and the best part is we don't have to be separated for six months.
Question: What is one actor/actress that you haven't worked with before that you would enjoy working with? -- Jackie
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Fortunately, there's hundreds and not just a couple. The list would probably go on forever, but I would love to work with Jack Nicholson, Julia Roberts, and continuing down the line.
AOLiveMC12: Princess8834 would like to know:
Question: You have done like four films with Matthew Lillard. Is he a good co-worker, and have you two built a good friendship off-screen as well as on-screen?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: He's wonderful to work with, which is why I made four films with him, and we have maintained a wonderful relationship over the last four or five years.
AOLiveMC12: Another one from Kids Only:
Question: From Sadyan: What do you like to do when you are not making movies?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: I like to cook, to play basketball, and to spend time with my family and friends.
AOLiveMC12: Hopefully not at the same time, basketball and cooking. AnorexicAznGrl38 asks:
Question: Hey, Freddie! It's your #1 fan! Good luck and best wishes to you and Sarah! Well, the question I wanted to ask you is, did you like working with Jessica Biel, and when you guys were doing those sexy scenes, did it make you feel weird?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: LOL, very funny. Now, to the question... I loved working with Jessie. She has a constant hunger for knowledge and wants to be the best actor in the world. And as far as the love scenes between her and I, no matter how sexy they look, it takes an entire crew and about 50 other people to make those scenes look right.
AOLiveMC12: It kind of ruins the mood, I reckon.
Freddie Prinze Jr.: LOL. Yeah, just a bit.
AOLiveMC12: Megera315 would like to know:
Question: What character that you have played do you think you are most like?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: His name is Al Connelly, and he was the character in ‘Down to You.’ And if you've seen the movie, then you definitely know why.
PopPrincessJana: Craazybeautiful asks: What’s your favorite movie? -- Leah
Freddie Prinze Jr.: My favorite movie is ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ because I always wished that would happen to me.
PopPrincessJana: Cutekitten6900 asks:
Question: I know this question doesn’t have to do with your new movie, but I was just wondering what character you play in the ‘Scooby-Doo’ movie.
Freddie Prinze Jr.: I play Fred Jones.
PopPrincessJana: LVSFTBAL asks:
Question: What was your favorite part making the movie? -- Colleen
Freddie Prinze Jr.: My favorite part about the movie was learning how to pitch. They found me some of the best coaches in the country, who made sure that my pitch was perfect.
AOLiveMC12: Okay I'm back. Too many fans IMing the emcee. Slowprincess asks:
Question: Who is your favorite music star?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: My favorite music star would probably be Shirley Manson from Garbage.
AOLiveMC12: Here's an interesting one:
Question: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream, that is, if you like ice cream?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: My favorite flavor would be peanut butter and chocolate from Baskin Robbins.
AOLiveMC12: Isn't that called Charlie Brown or something?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: I don't know what they call it, but it sure tastes good!
AOLiveMC12: Well it sounds yummy!
Question: Hey, Freddie, I am a huge fan!!! I was just wondering if you are coming up in any more flicks other than ‘Summer Catch’ and ‘Scooby-Doo’?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: No, ‘Scooby-Doo’ took six months to film, and I just finished, and now it's time for a long-deserved break.
AOLiveMC12: No doubt about that, and you have earned it.
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Thank you.
AOLiveMC12: Linzz72286 wants to know:
Question: Are you going to grow your hair long again or keep it short?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: It is in the process of growing back out right now. I had to shave it off at the end of ‘Scooby-Doo,’ because bleaching it once a week turned it into straw.
AOLiveMC12: Grly4vball wants to know this:
Question: How did you and Sarah meet each other?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Sarah and I met on the set of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ and we became great friends there.
AOLiveMC12: UnLeAsHdAkEeSh23 seems a bit envious with this question:
Question: Is it hard having so many girls that love you? Or do you enjoy that?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: You really just try to appreciate the people who care for you and not think about the ones who don't.
Question: I just recently saw ‘Head Over Heels’ and thought you were good as the role of the FBI agent/perfect man. Are you anything like that character in real life?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: There's a bit of me in every character I do. The honesty that he possessed I hope is a quality that I share.
AOLiveMC12: Mssbratgrl88 sends this one in:
Question: How are you doing? Do you like your fame? What is the craziest thing a fan has ever said to you?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: I enjoy my job very much. The craziest thing that has ever happened is a group of girls stole my sandwich in the airport at Vancouver, Canada.
AOLiveMC12: I am getting an overwhelming repeat of the same question tonight... Most of the audience is dying to know, and you don't have to answer... boxers or briefs?
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Boxers since I was 12 years old.
AOLiveMC12: Now maybe they can change topics. LOL. And yet another popular question... They'd all like to know the big wedding date, if you guys have it planned, and this will be the last question.
Freddie Prinze Jr.: Fortunately we do, but that's something between Sarah and I, but thank you for asking. And just to wrap it up, I want to say sorry if my answers were quick, but I am at JFK Airport, and I only had a half hour, so I tried to answer as many questions as possible. Thank you to everyone who came to the room, and I hope you enjoy the movie.
AOLiveMC12: I respect that stance, thanks so much for being a great guest and good sport tonight!

MariposaLKB 05-11-2002, 09:41 AM can all of you hear his father's way of expressing himself in this chat with Jr.? He sounds very self-assured and well-adjusted. I can imagine it would be hard for him to be asked about the nickname "Pie". He couldn't just come out and say, "Please don't call me that--my dad was the only one who used that name!" He handled all the questions very well, especially considering that he was in an airport with not much time. The thing about the girls stealing his sandwich in another airport made me LOL. But boxers? OMG his father could never have worn those, not under those tight jeans ROTFLMAO!!!
Cheryl Harrell 05-11-2002, 05:24 PM I'd guess he wore boxers. Wish Kathy would come on here & answer that one for us! ;) Only Freddie knows for sure... :) Tighty Whities I bet... ;)
Karen64 05-11-2002, 07:32 PM On the show, when Freddie had on those TIGHT jeans and bent over, I can see underwear outlines! And it looked like he wore either tighty whities 2 sizes too small or bikini briefs! On some shows, I can also see a rectangle-shaped thing in his front pocket--probably his pack of smokes..
Can't keep many secrets when ya wear tight pants!! LOL! :happyface
Pitooey 05-11-2002, 10:19 PM OMGoodness Cheryl! I loved the interview. He is such a sweetheart....... Just like Poppa!!!
Cheryl Harrell 05-12-2002, 12:07 AM Another JR interview that reminds me of dad:
http://www.dennishensley.com/FreddiePrinzeJr.htm
Cheryl Harrell 05-12-2002, 04:28 AM Man, did Sr look good in those tight jeans!
I too noticed his smokes in his pocket in that episode. In fact in an episode or 2 I noticed he had in his pocket of his jeans what looked like a packet of cigarrettes & a folded up hankerchief. Like they were shoved down real tight in his jeans. Anyone else see that? :) I also noticed in some of his jeans they hardly had any pockets in them & the pockets they did have looked like they were almost hidden where he would've had to reach inside his pants to get out his stuff like his cigs & his hanky. ;) I wonder what he did with his wallet... ;)
MariposaLKB 05-12-2002, 08:48 AM Karen, I agree that at least part of the time the underwear HAD to be bikinis! Mmmmmm!!! My imagination just went into overtime! And I am sure he always wore very tight briefs--he had to have, in those jeans LOL!
Cheryl, you are right most of his jeans don't seem to have had back pockets. And when he had to use the pay phone in the garage he must have just been pretending to get a dime out of his pocket--there was NO room, as tight as those pants were ROTFLMAO! I didn't notice the cigarettes until Luckymama pointed that out to me one time when she was here watching tapes with me--DUH!!! Can't imagine how he stuffed them in there--and why he had to carry them anyway? He couldn't leave them somewhere offstage?!
Pitooey 05-12-2002, 10:49 AM AAAhhhhhh... I remember those jeans without the back pockets. That was a big style back then in the 70's. He sure looked good in them. :) :) :)
Cheryl Harrell 05-13-2002, 05:05 AM I could understand him having his hankie in the pocket of his jeans when he filmed the show just in case he sneezed or cried or something but I couldn't figure out why he had his cigarrettes in his pocket when filming. Chico didn't smoke so Freddie could've left them in his dressing room. Unless he was really dying for a smoke...
I do have a pic of Freddie wearing this shoulderbag/totebag thing on his shoulder, wearing jeans & a zip front jacket. I'm betting he wore it cuz the jeans didn't have much pockets in them. I wondered if maybe he kept his pills in it?
There's a coupla episodes where he reaches in his pocket of those tight jeans for his hankie. One of them was the Padre episode where when his father leaves & he hugs him goodbye & cries. When he walks across the room & picks up his moms picture & cries it looks like he's holding a hankie in his hand & then he seems to put it down when he picks up the pic.
Also there's an episode where Ed Brown says to Chico that if he were his son he wouldn't be a gas jockey working in some garage but be a dr or lawyer. Freddie looks so sad & hurt & tears come in his eyes. He leaves the room & walks out. It looks like he gets out a hankie for a minute & swipes at his eyes with it. When he turns around & smiles & comes back to Ed Brown it looks like he shoves it in his pocket real quick. & His pocket doesn't seem to have much room in it either. I could tell when he was doing this scene that he was really hurt & it really got to him & his tears weren't in the script but were him really feeling it. Bless his heart...
Another interesting thing I noticed was in those coupla scenes where he didn't cry as hard he used a hankie but in the scenes where he was crying pretty hard like when Ed Brown thinks he's lost his touch & tells Chico what he thinks Chico should've told him & Chico breaks down & cries he doesn't use a hankie. Just something else I noticed in some episodes...
