View Full Version : Who was a FAN of Saturday Morning Sci-Fi from Filmation studd911 12-18-2010, 11:45 PM Hey was anybody a fan of Filimmation Sci-Fi series Ark II Shazzam Spsce Acadamy And Jason Of Star Command great shows does anybody remember these shows Marvo301 12-19-2010, 01:15 AM I remember watching Shazzam and Isis. cocytus 12-19-2010, 01:29 AM I enjoyed the majority of the Filmation products that were released. Even though the low production budgets made them (makes them now) look rather "cheesy" they were certainly entertaining. Among the best (IMHO): 1) The Ghost Busters 2) Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids 3) The U.S. of Archie 4) Shazam/Isis 5) Star Trek: The Animated Series comedyfreak 12-21-2010, 09:39 AM Superman 60's Batman 60's The Superfriends Shazam/Isis Star Trek: The Animated Series Space Academy Jason Of Star Command I watched all of these and really enjoyed them. tv star collector 12-21-2010, 10:32 AM Star Trek won an Emmy Award and reunited most of the original cast (with the exception of Walter Koenig, who penned at least one script). Flash Gordon was also exceptional, particularly the pilot (which aired on NBC in prime-time, no less). Overall, the adventure shows were better than the comedy shows from Filmation (which, I thought, were kind of cheesy and corny on the whole; although the Archie show did contain some very good music, thanks to Don Kirshner, who also developed The Monkees). And the two Gilligan series (The New Adventures of Gilligan, Gilligan's Planet) weren't bad. They did manage to reunite most of the original cast (with the exception of Tina Louise). In fact, in the second cartoon series, Dawn Wells played both Mary Ann and Ginger! Doodyville10019 12-21-2010, 06:23 PM IMO, The best cartoons that Filmation ever did are: 1. Fat Albert & The Cosby Kids 2. Star Trek 3. Bravestarr 4. Tarzan Their live action shows, however, were bette than most of their cartoons! I was (md still am) a huge fan of Isis and Shazam! Retro4Life 12-21-2010, 07:22 PM I remember watching Space Academy and Fat Albert a lot, and most of the others at least occasionally. Great memories. Jude The Obscure 12-25-2010, 04:03 PM Loved them all......and the fact that most of them used the same background music and cues  That was like an instant clue you were watching a Filmation production! Regulus 02-07-2011, 03:25 PM Loved them all......and the fact that most of them used the same background music and cues  That was like an instant clue you were watching a Filmation production! The Following were my Favorate Filmation Series. Except for the first Five they are in no particular order. BOLD = Available on DVD. :D Star Trek Lassie's Rescue Rangers Fantastic Voyage Journey to the Center of the Earth Flash Gordon Shazzam! - I hear the reason this one isn't available on DVD is the same reason the 1966 "Adam West" Batman isn't available on DVD - Multiple Ownership Issues! :( Secrets of Isis Space Acadamy Jason of Star Command Ark II The Hardy Boys The Archie Show Archie's Funhouse Sabrina, The Teenage Witch The Groovy Ghoulies The Adventures of Tarzan Torgo 03-30-2011, 09:13 AM These were some of my favorite shows to watch on Saturday mornings, and have now been collecting them on DVD- (The ones in bold are the ones I have so far on DVD) The ones I watched: Ark II Space Academy(The shuttle is actually the Ark II modified) Jason Of Star Command The Shazam/Isis Hour The Ghost Busters Flash Gordon(though the show fell apart when they added the pink dragon) Star Trek Fat Albert He-Man Gilligan's Planet Blackstar Bravestarr I wish they'd release the animated film- Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All(too bad they didn't include it in the animated Flash Gordon DVD set) 70s show watcher 04-14-2011, 07:22 AM i really enjoyed space academy |
