It might sound crazy, but, Rollo was great on Sanford & Son. He was great material for Fred to attack on a weekly basis. Would A Rollo spinoff work? Would it fail? Heck, it can't be much worse than the other S & S Spinoffs. lol

Rollo was a good character, but I dont think a spinoff show around him would have worked.

Hey, I would've watched it. But I would've rather seen a Julio spinoff. ;) :eyes:

Julio should've been a part of the Sanford Arms Spinoff.

Gee, I wonder why....

The Sanford Arms was a desperate attempt to milk the "Sanford" name for all was worth. How can you have a "Sanford" show without a Sanford. Well, they tried and it was a miserable failure. They would have been better off just doing a show centered around Aunt Esther and her husband.

Guess I can't blame LaWanda Page for signing on -- after all, she was an actress who wanted to work -- but I bet she regretted it in the long run.

Monika, when it comes to Gregory Sierra, you're not exactly subtle about your abiding love and devotion to him! ;)

The Rollo character was never developed enough to have been a solo character. The Sanford Arms was simply NBC's version of Archie Bunker's Place: A bad idea that was created to make more money.

Which, of course, never works.

There was one major difference between Archie Bunker's Place and Sanford Arms: ABP actually had Archie Bunker. There was no Sanford on SA.

Theodore (Teddy) Wilson was a frequent guest actor on many sitcoms back in the seventies, like M*A*S*H and What's Happening! You'd think he would have had another show where he could have been the star. He was a fine actor and seemed a natural to anchor his own show, but success seemed to elude him that way.

: I am so glad to have found this site! I absolutely LOVE SnS and am smitten with Rollo. He was my favorite character and Nathaniel Taylor did a fantastic job as the ne'er-do-well/ladies man bad boy with a heart of gold. In my opinion he made any episode funnier, and you could always see how much Redd Foxx genuinely tickled him as Fred Sanford. He couldn't control his laughter I have tried looking him up on the web to tell him I'm his biggest fan but all I have been able to find out is he is alive and well somewhere in St. Louis. The poster who is the Gregory Sierra fan can't be as nuts about him as I am about Rollo/Nate. I look forward to talking to other SnS fans now that I've found you.
