i cant stand going there imbd igo there to post good subjects on tv on some of my favorite subjects and get am insulted by trolls cause my grammer and punction is off

i cant help if i dont post as well as the next person.im sure you all understand that i try my best make good post.

people are aholes down there dont know why i even bother to make good post there anyway.

I visit the boards at IMDB once in a while to read what other people have posted but I don't post anything myself. A lot of people who post there seem to be very immature and I find I have to read through a lot of posts just to find the few that contain useful information. I'd much rather spend my time with the great people here at S.O.!

Those boards are terrible. I swear there's more "haters" on each celebrity's board than there are fans. The people are downright cruel on the site. I try to avoid it but every now and then I get caught up and have to reply.

To the credit of the great admins here, from TJ on down, trolls and others prone to immature/disruptive behavior aren't tolerated. That's why SO is the class act that it is.

just another example of people thinking that they can get away with being jerks just because they are hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, I wouldn't even bother reading the crap there.

yeah and all in the family board only got two pages like wow i mostly read there try not to post always got to ask if somebody straight or not almost everyone completley horribell.

imdb boards are never moderated properly- you're right every celebrity page they have their own forums, yet people post horrible posts on there such saying things like 'she is old, ugly', or whatever.

i used to post their regularly but not any more. i swear some of those people on there are just downright insensitive and rude. i bet you they wouldn't have the guts to say those things to them in person.

I only use imdb when I need to know the name of an actor or a TV show or movie. I've not posted there, but I have read some of the messages left and they can be a bit mean-spirited, to say the least... :eek:

Think of it this way, those are people who clearly have nothing better to do than to tear someone down. I'd almost feel sorry for them

My experience with IMDb has been really similar to that of everyone here. There are some good people posting there, but you have to wade through a lot of terrible stuff to try to find them. Lots of bad activity. It's a shame and mostly not worth your time.

In my opinion, IMDB is run by a "Big Brother" type of administration. If you told me you would give me 50,000 to name even one admin by name, I'd lose. But SO has a more friendly type of administration, and the admins here actually chat with the posters, and I can name the administrators by name. TJ and Janice. :)

IMDB is also more "Take care of yourselves," because if a poster doesn't like another poster, IMDB has the "Ignore" button, which allows poster's to not see what their enemies are posting. At SO, It is much more of a family thing, as posters feel much more connected to each other and the moderators and administrators. :)

There is good and bad on IMDB. I agree there are tons of trolls that post mean stuff on the boards for actors,actresses, writers etc. But there are some really cool posters there that know a lot about the TV and movie industry and are cool talk to.

From time to time I look up movie trivia there, but don't log in. I got a user ID and Password several years ago (I can't even remember what it is), roughly the same time I joined SO. I can't remember exactly, but I mentioned I liked a particular movie or something, and a few posters sharply slammed me about it, for no apparent reason. I logged on a few more times, but lost interest. It's one thing to disagree using logical argument, or from conviction, but in that case it was just plain mean spirited. I can't speak for the entire imdb; I just had that one experience and it wasn't pleasant.

Man, that's nothing. Any movie related to the 9/11 attacks is flooded with messages from the so-called "9/11 Truth Movement," as well as people like myself who are willing to tell them to take a flying leap. In fact, anytime you have movies related to US foreign policy, you have scumbags like them going on those boards and lying about America's role in the world, whethere it's some commie sympathizer claiming we're "colonialists" and "imperialists," or some Neo-Nazi or Jihadist who insists that we're at war because our country is "controlled by Jews/Zionists/Israel."

I'm logged into IMDb 24/7, because... well,... I've been contributing before they made you log onto the site. And I'll continue to do so, as long as I know something about a movie, TV show, cast member, or crew member, that they don't have listed. But many of the pieces of human waste that populate these boards really take the fun out of it.
