I've noticed that some people are still trying to post videos from YouTube using the embed method which no longer works. If you want to post a clip, you must do the following:

1. Click share underneath video
2. Copy url after the last slash
3. Click YouTube icon, paste and submit

For example: http://youtu.be/4pD7hwPG-7g

only this part is used: 4pD7hwPG-7g

Hope this helps and thanks to Mr. Cleveland for letting me know how it's now done

Thanks for telling us this.

I've noticed that the embedding method still does work, however the link must be copied from a YouTube video that is already embedded on a website.

That was something I learned and how I was able to still post some videos.

Thank you! I'm glad I found this thread. I was trying to share a YouTube video using the Youtube button and couldn't get it to work. I'll try it this way now.

Since this fantastic forum is about a whole lot more than just those wild, wonderful
and crazy sitcoms, why is it that we don't have a computer question and answer
section where a question like this can be easily posted, found and answered for all to benefit from?

Are there any plans to make YouTube videos embeddable on Sitcoms Online again? Having separate YouTube and YouTube HD icons in the WYSIWYG editor seems a little archaic as YT went HD quite a few years ago, and it should just be one icon.

I think the embed code has been fixed. I had to change the links from http to https.

So does that mean the video thumbnails wouldn't show up before this happened?

OH Nuts!

I noticed YouTube HD is gone and now it's just the YouTube icon.

Is there a way that YouTube can be implemented for when we post using the Quick Reply option?

Thank you.

Any old links that used the bb code should generate the thumbnails. It probably wasn't working before.

I copied the code into both versions, so there is now only one code and icon needed.

I will look into adding it into the Quick Reply, but that's supposed be quick so I don't think its a good idea to have too many icons there. It's only one extra click to get to the full reply page.
