Would it have worked better if Mork was a foreigner instead of an alien? Was the show fine the way it was? Opinions?...

Well considering that the Mork character was introduced (as an alien) on an episode of "Happy Days" before "Mork and Mindy" existed and the series was then built around that character making him a foreigner was never an option. I think Mork being an alien was fine. The problem was that when they got to season three they got away from the basic "fish out of water" premise first with the introduction of "Mearth" and then with some even weirder storylines. That's when this show went downhill.

If Mork was a foreigner instead of an alien, the show would have been 'Perfect Strangers'.
