(My first thread! lol)


Hey gang,

So for me, the Unbelievable Segments that I still found nonetheless, really entertaining are:

1) Resurrection Mary!

Now, I don't believe in ghosts (and I've tried to) but I still really love a good ghost story! And Resurrection Mary is one of the best - I really liked how UM recreated the scenes with drivers by catching glimpses of her moseyin' around the graveyard. The scene were the two ladies are driving along Archer Ave. and suddenly see this girl in white dash out in font of their car is still kinda spooky!

2) Highway Vision

I really doubt it was Christine Skubish's bare nekkid angel or ghost or whatever but regardless, this is hands down, the most interesting "ghost" story UM has covered! It's really, really great that her son survived!

Now, keep in mind, Debora Hoyt, the witness who claimed to see the totally bare naked lady, was trying to stay awake.

There was one time in '04 I was driving down a highway in Minnesota late at night with my wife. I was really tired and I could've sworn I saw a freakin' panther run across the highway. The weird thing is, my wife said she saw something run across too -but she couldn't really tell what it was, she said she just saw "weird" legs


My point to this, is that Debora Hoyt was really tired, so it coulda been anything that her sleepy brain equated to what looked like a naked woman

What I really love about this story is that how this bizarro coincidence led to the authorities finding the boy alive and intact (he's really lucky no animals got to him!). However, it's also really odd how the synchronicity of this all played out that makes me actually throw my hands up and say "ya got me"


3) Zodiac & The Unabomber - I don't believe them to be the same person - but I still find the coincidental similarities really interesting!


4) The Canadian UFO - This story freaked me out when I was younger - Nowadays, I'm more curious as to why anyone would go through the hassle of staging a UFO "landing" , making a tape, mailing it out and using the whole "Guardian" persona - I don't believe it has to do with aliens at all, I just think someone's screwing around -- but it still makes for an entertaining story

I didn't know there was a segment comparing Zodiac and the Unabomber. Ted Kaczynski obviously wasn't the Zodiac, but I'll have to watch that segment to see the leaps in logic involved.

My favorites are:

1) Any of the "psychic ones." They are so fake and yet they are always good for a laugh.
2) Sarah Powell - You have to recalibrate the BS meter when you are watching this one.
3) Any of the "ghost stories - Those were a good way for a small business to get cheap publicity.
4) The "Chair of Death" - Need I say anymore?

I generally enjoy most of the ghost and UFO segments, no matter how unbelievable they may be.

"Tallman's Ghost" is definitely my personal favourite. Some people may argue that the whole thing is a hoax, but that doesn't change the fact that it's one hell of a scary segment and gave me many sleepless nights in my childhood. Of course, the "Lake Wales Haunting" is the ultimate UM guilty pleasure because it's pure comedic gold.

I always still enjoy watching the Anastasia segment even though the whole thing has been proven to be a hoax.

I have a soft spot for the Rainboy segment as well.

The Georgia Rudolph segment undeniably has a great production values and is beautiful to watch even though the whole story's probably a load of B.S.

Georgia Rudolph and Conradina Olsen, both beautifully filmed with heavy amounts of BS.

In general UFO and Ghost segments are great to watch, even if you have to suspend disbelief.

Lake Wales Haunting: the parents wondering about the noises from the son's room, the spectrally possessed wife holding down her 300 lb. husband, the exorcised snails. :lol:

The Entity: maybe those guys were sincere, but it was still funny. "Come on over, and we'll fix ya up."

Any of the big foot ones - you gotta love the characters UM found to talk about their "experiences" :D

I love all the ones mentioned so far. Adding Allagash abductions. Gives me the willies. I also like the one where we get to watch a lady being exorcised. Oh and the Spontaneous Human Combustion one...the experts making fun of each other cracks me up..."This is crackpottery of a very high order..." :lol:

Chair of Death! I don't believe in that kind of stuff but I'll tell you one thing. If everyone who sat in that chair died, I WOULD NOT SIT IN THAT CHAIR! Even a non-believer like me wouldn't take that chance.

The funny part is that the overwhelming majority of people who sat in the chair didn't die from doing that. They couldn't have...as a chair w/ that "power" would have been chopped up for kindling a long time ago.

True that. And I would write off most of the deaths as being people being drunk when they left that bar. Still, you couldn't pay me to sit in that thing.

Anyway -some of the patrons and staff explained to me that it was the "ghost's" chair -- and I was like: "Why would a ghost even need a chair?"

So anyway, they explained that I was now cursed -- and I that I might die soon! -- well, it's been eight years... and I feel fine




Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go stand in my dark bathroom, stare at the mirror and say "Bloody Mary" ten times

I don't believe, but like the walk in segment. Namely because I find it entertaining and all of the interviewees are very pleasant to listen to. They seem to really believe what they're saying.

I love the part where one woman tells her husband she has a new name! lol

Chair of death! I may not believe it, but I love the segment.

Good old chair of death. I would kill for a toy version, to go next to the fertility statues and resurrection mary action figure of course.

Even though it's been debunked as a hoax, the Ed Walters Gulf Breeze UFO segment is still a lot of fun to watch, if only to see how successfully he was able to spread mass hysteria through the community. It's fascinating how many respectable citizens were still willing to appear on camera to state they saw a UFO even after evidence had emerged that Walters was hoaxing them.

Makes you wonder about some of the other UFO "witnesses" doesn't it?

I'm a sucker for the Zodiac Killer thing they did. Yeah, I don't believe that Ted was the Zodiac Killer (gotta give me something more besides, Ted living in the general area where all the crimes were taking place), but I'd never heard of Zodiac until that UM segment, so I give it props.

The Lake Wales Haunting...I mostly just laugh because of how much that segment used to scare me when I was a kid. Dear lord, those people are rednecks and I must have been the wussiest kid ever! Like I've said before, the fact that Alan Mann looks a lot like Craig from Malcolm in the Middle only adds to the hilarity.
