The fact is simple: Americans love zombies and quality character dramas.
Proof? "The Walking Dead" season finale pulled in 6 million viewers on Sunday night.
According to AMC, the first season finale brought in a staggering 4 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic. Repeated airings of the finale brought the combined total to 8.1 million viewers.
Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until at least next summer -- or even October -- for season 2.
