When you see Mary Tyler Moore, who do you first think of her as? Laurie Petrie from the Dick Van Dyke Show Or Mary Richards from The Mary Tyler Moore Show?

For me it's Laura Petrie. (Oh! Rob!!!) But I'm a big Dick Van Dyke Show fan so that naturally sways my opinion.

Mary Richards, I guess mainly because I grew up watching Mary's series while it was still in production. I later saw all of the Dick Van Dyke Show episodes in syndication, and at times she seemed almost like a different young woman to me...!

Actually when I think of Mary I think of her as the sprightly Hotpoint girl on The Adventure of Ozzie and Harriet commericals (from the early yrs.) But outside of that, DEFINITELY Mary Richards. I grew up with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and would look forward to it every time it came on. LOVED it then and LOVED it now. The Dick Van Dyke show was OK, but for The Mary Tyler Moore Show I went wild.
