Prominent TV producer Alfred Masini died on Monday at the age of 80.
Masini produced and created hit TV shows including "Entertainment Tonight," "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous", "Star Search", "Solid Gold" as well as the 47th Miss Universe Pageant held here in Honolulu.
According to his wife, Charyln Honda Masini, Al died from complications of Melanoma.
Charlyn says Al was comfortable and surrounded by family members when he passed away in his beloved home in Honolulu.
"Al was a humble, sweet loveable person. He loved everyone. [He] wanted to help as many as he could," Charlyn said.
Masini was also a recipient of the Maile Award for his tremendous contributions in the marketing and promotion of Hawaii.
