I never really gave it much thought; but lately I've been watching a show on The Discovery Channel called, A Haunting. The show chronicles the stories of people whose houses have had ghosts. They bring in people who contact the ghosts for a living, and try to get rid of them. If everything I'm seeing is true, then ghosts do exist. Animals seem to know if there's a ghost before the humans do. On one show, a family lost two healthy dogs and a horse.

Thoughts?

Though I think a lot of sightings, etc. can be explained by normal phenomena, yes, I definitely think that ghosts exist.

My wife is a big fan of the tv show ghost hunters. I'm a little skeptical, but you do have to admit after watching those shows anything is possible.

How come on the shows I have seen the Ghosts only come out at night? Has a reason ever been given for this?

I have a friend of mine, who is a psychic medium, whom, has a fair amount of ghost encounters, most of them took place during the day time.

For people, who are intrigued by the paranormal, and another program to check out is, Ghost Adventures (on the Travel Channel). Even if you are an ardent skeptic. Ghost Adventures is very, very interesting show.

I have been told, and read; that animals are able to see ghosts, where humans cannot.

I remember Coco used to get scared and hide. She'd look up at the walls and ceiling and nothing was there. She would do this all the time. She'd often hide under the kitchen table. I always wondered if she was seeing ghosts.

I personally do think there are ghosts out there. I know sometimes I get a chill down my back and I wonder if anyone's there.

I am not 100% sure if ghosts are real; but if they do exist. I would like to believe a majority of spirits are guardian angels, looking after a love one:)

A building, which was located next to a tavern that my grandpa ran for many years, was reputed to be haunted.

Noted "ghost authority" Hans Holzer, who wrote over 100 books, even wrote a chapter about it in one of his books, Gothic Ghosts.

People reported seeing a ghostly figure, whose face was obscured. There were other strange occurrences, such as the presence of cigar smoke (when no smokers were present), the sound of a door opening and closing along with unexplained footsteps, and other weird things.

Another time, a few people were sitting around in the place, when a woman felt an ice-cold hand on her back. She reported that she could feel every finger, but when she turned around, she saw no one.

The owners did a bit of research, and discovered that a previous owner had committed suicide in 1923, by shooting himself in the temple of his head.

Last year, that building, along with others nearby, was demolished to make way for a road widening project. There were a couple of guys doing asbestos removal prior to the demolition. I approached them, and asked if they had noticed anything unusual while working there. They said that, on one occasion, one of their dust masks unexplicably went flying across a room. Also, various tools would be moved around, when both workers were certain that neither of them had moved them. They knew nothing of the background of the building until I told them, and then one of the guys said to the other "See? I TOLD you it was haunted!".

I don't believe in an afterlife, so my answer would have to be no, I don't believe in ghosts.

I do believe in ghosts. After my dad passed away we noticed things happening in the house. The blind chain was swinging and I watched it for an 1/2 hour and it would slow down and then pick up speed. The blinds didn't move just the chain. Finally I got up and stopped it from swinging. The music box starting playing one morning. Another time our mailbox key that is normally in a certain drawer was missing and we couldn't find it. 3 days later it was found in the walk-in closet underneath a box. We thought, okay dad, very funny. Another time me and mom had a guy come over to the house to talk about a water system being put in. Well we went ahead and bought it and when he told us how much it was and about to sign the papers one of our kitchen lights started to flicker. Me and mom looked at each other. After the guy left we both thought dad was having a fit about the cost. The light has never flickered since.

My sister-in-law says a little girl dressed like the Little House On The Prairie kids appears in a certain bedroom in the house. Their dog barks like crazy.

I'm not sure what to believe. When I went to Hollywood three years ago I went to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where two places are suppose to be haunted but I didn't see anything. I also wanted to see George Reeves mansion which is also supposed to be haunted but I couldn't find it so I gave up. I drove all the way up Benedict Canyon but could find the address.

90% of the stories on those tv shows revolve around some woman whose husband doesn't pay much attention to her anymore. "Ghosts" seem to be her only outlet to draw her loved one's interest. Sad, but true.

Oh, and I personally think ghosts don't exist. Our human minds just try to rationalize unexplainable natural phenomena.

I'm sorry to say I don't believe in ghosts.

Not saying I don't believe in an afterlife or angels or anything of a spiritual nature.

I just think all these ghost hunters and investigations are just a money making crock and can't believe the straight faces these guys keep while spewing out made-up technojargon. Either they are modern day charlatans or self-deluding individuals who want to believe.

No ghosts, no talking to the dead, no psychics.

If one instance had ever impressed me I would gladly change my tune.

I don't know. I never really thought so....

A friend of mine (former teacher) had her mother pass away in March 2002 and it really hit her hard. I met her mother a few times. She was nice. My friend kept hoping that her mother would come to her in a dream. At one point my friend went to a medium to ask if her mother had tried to contact her or anyone in her family. The medium told her that her mother had contacted me in a dream. My friend asked me about it on the phone. I wasn't sure if I had actually had a dream about that or if I just thought perhaps I did because she asked me. I remember it bothered her that her mother hadn't contacted her or a blood relative. I've always knd of pretended in my mind I was her daughter. She has always been nice to me. She knows I think highly of her. :)

Anyway, I just don't know. I do wonder how that medium could have known who I was....

Not the ghost shows I watch. Most of them are happy couples with children. Nobody seemed neglected or sad to me, or seeking attention.

Heh-heh... asking a major Halloween enthusiast if ghosts exist!

Anyway, my answer is (obviously) yes.

These are my two favorite ghost photos...
The first one taken in 1936 and the second one in 1966.
