Tune into ABC on December 9, at 10 PM as Barbara Walters unveils her "10 Most Fascinating People of 2010". She gave a sneak peak on "The View" and Betty White is one of the chosen! (Walters said 2010 was Betty White's big year). The interview looks funny!

I have to say, using the term 'Most Fascinating' is quite a stretch for any person, and this year's crop of 'fascinating people' has much to be desired, IMO. (Sarah Palin? Justin Bieber? Kate Mittleton? What exactly is fascinating about them?)

However, in the case of White I would say she comes closest in definition. An 88 year old actress who had job offers on a regular basis this past year, became a Facebook sensation, has developed a brand new younger fan base, etc. - that is pretty fascinating.

What has happened to Barbara Walters? Why would this legendary and accomplished journalist stoop so low as to give time to the cast of Jersey Shore?

This is a great honor for the great Betty White, but (imo) its also an insult to give the same title as 'most facinating person' to Sarah, Schnookems and "The Situation"! :puke:

I agree. Betty is the only one truly deserving to be on this list!

I concur. Betty White has been entertaining people for over 60 years. It is truly amazing that she will be 89 in February and is gaining more fans every year. I still think The Golden Girls was her best role but then the ensemble cast helped that.

Betty is definitely deserving of the title:)

I thought it was ridiculous in the constant previews for this Special that it showed Barbara asking Betty "Does one still have sex at 88 1/2?" Well Barbara is 80, do you you still have sex Barbara? I thought it was a ridiculous question to keep showing again and again when it has nothing to do with Betty's career boost in the last year.
