Nielsen’s nephew Doug Nielsen told CJOB talk radio (http://actorguru.com/2010/11/28/leslie-nielsen-had-died/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+actorguru+%28ActorGuru.com%29#) station that the actor passed away after being hospitalized for nearly two weeks with pneumonia. “Just in this last 48 hours, the infection has gotten too much and today at 5.30, with his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away,” Doug told the radio station.Leslie Nielsen was primarily known for his comedy works for “The Naked Gun” films (http://actorguru.com/2010/11/28/leslie-nielsen-had-died/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+actorguru+%28ActorGuru.com%29#),. And,in addition to his comedy films,Leslie Nielsen starred in many,many,many network drama series:"Thriller","Alfred Hitchcock Presents/The Alfred Hitchcock Hour","Kraft Suspense Theatre","Bob Hope Chrysler Theatre-(aka Universal Star Time-all Universal TV shows),"Hawaii Five-O"(the original version with the late Jack Lord and the late James Mac Arthur-I think),etc....He was good at both comedy and drama.His comedy roles were kind of a take-off of his drama roles-and he was good at doing that-Question:Was he ever featured as Lucas (Dorothy's new husband)on "The Golden Palace"?He will be missed.RIP ,Leslie.

Too bad he never did a Twilight Zone episode but he did star in the Night Gallery episode A Question of Fear.

This has been a year of losses for The Golden Girls with Rue, then Harold Gould (Miles) and now Leslie Nielson (Lucas Hollingsworth) :(

So very sad... I always enjoyed Leslie's deadpan comedic style... he is definitely going to be missed... :(

That is REALLY eerie, they went in threes, just as in Airplane! - first Peter Graves died in March, Barbara Billingsley in October, and now Lesie Nielsen. :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

And though they didn't pass in the same year, we lost 3 Golden Girls 3 years in a row, Estelle (2008); Bea (2009) and Rue (2010)!
