ThomasE 11-28-2010, 02:40 AM It would be a classic to me. Susan's non appearance does kind of mar it, though. However, it could still be a classic to me. I like it. My other issue though is that Cindy was still in college considering she graduated class of 1980. Bobby was still in business school. I say they should have let the kids grow up.
catlover79 11-28-2010, 03:08 AM To me and many Brady fans this will always be a classic. The only bad thing is no Susan. :( But I think Jennifer Runyon held her own. Susan actually said in an interview that she randomly bumped into Jennifer at a Burger King a few years ago. They were both there with their kids, recognized each other, and hugged. Isn't that sweet? :D
McGillicuddy 11-28-2010, 11:07 AM I guess it would be a classic to sit-com fans. By the way, it never made any sense that Cindy was still in college in 1988 (When AVBC premiered!) Cindy was in college when The Brady Girls Get Married in 1981. She must have been on the 10-year plan. Even if she had dropped out at some point, to do some soul searching, and gone back, that still seems like a long time!
On the other hand, Greg, who graduated high school at the end of the original series in 1974, was already a practicing doctor in 1981 on TBGGM. He must have breezed right through college and med-school!
gidgetgrape 11-28-2010, 03:15 PM It's a classic! I still remember how excited I was when I saw the ad for this movie in TV Guide.

Yeah, that always bugged me, too. But then again, Cindy never was the sharpest tool in the shed - and Susan Olsen would be the first to say it!!!!

I think Cindy's most repeated line in the series was "Oh yeah! I forgot!" She even forgot that peanut butter sandwiches were her favorite! It's no wonder it took her so long to get through college!
old grouch 11-29-2010, 02:45 PM 'A Very Brady Christmas' is no 'It's a Wonderful Life', but it's fun to watch. I also like 'The Voice of Christmas' episode from the first season.
Tweety 12-12-2010, 08:32 PM I wouldn't put it in the classic category, that seems a bit of a stretch. They really don't make Christmas Classics any more, and haven't for some time.

 :brent
Jude The Obscure 12-13-2010, 01:07 AM It's a classic to me..... :D
But CBS/Paramount is really losing out by not issuing this as its own stand alone DVD. I had to take my VHS copy (official one) and convert it myself. That's sad.
OH Nuts! 12-14-2010, 08:39 PM It's a classic to me..... :D

Me too (I think I like the Brady movies maybe even more than the orig. show)
rcbrad 12-14-2010, 09:21 PM I would consider the first season BB Christmas episode a classic. The movie features a classic and very fondly remembered tv family, but the movie itself I would not consider a holiday classic. (even as much as I love the BB)
Retro4Life 12-14-2010, 10:46 PM I liked it but I don't think it qualifies as a "classic". It's pleasant and nostalgic and a little surprising at times, but overall it doesn't have the emotional "oomph" needed to make it a classic.
Jude The Obscure 12-20-2010, 11:54 AM But you gotta admit--it has outlived most Christmas TV movies in terms of playability and remembrance. Most TV movies get played maybe 3-4 years and then fade off to obscurity......"Christmas Comes to Willow Creek" anyone?

Jennifer Runyon, who now goes by her married name of Jennifer Corman, recently friended me on FB. She confirmed this story, and she and Susan are still in touch. Cool, huh?

Aren't you friends with all 3 fake Brady girls?

I am, and they are also all FB friends with each other!! We're also all FB friends with Susan. :D
Schmoopie 03-26-2012, 06:31 AM I haven't seen this in ages but I did love it when it first came out. I didn't even know (or remember actually) that Jennifer Runyon took over the role of Cindy. I really liked Jennifer Runyon in the movie "18 Again". She's a good actress. I don't know if I'd consider this movie a 'classic' but it was very well done.

The movie with George Burns? That was such a cute little film. :D
