Being a high-profile Glee fan has its perks. The Fox phenom is in talks with CBS Evening News anchor (and self-proclaimed Gleek) Katie Couric to make a cameo in the show's post-Super Bowl episode on Feb. 6. A show rep declined to comment, but an insider tells me that Couric would play herself in a scene with Emmy winner Jane Lynch. A portion of the episode revolves around Lynch's Sue attending the regional cheerleading championships with her Cheerios squad.
Ironically, the news comes just weeks after Couric -- who talks of watching the show with her 14-year-old daughter -- publicly blasted Glee stars Lea Michele and Dianna Agron for participating in the now-infamous GQ photo shoot. "These very adult photos of young women who perform in a family show just seem so un-Glee-like," she said on the Evening News. "The program is already edgy in the right ways, these images don't really -- in my humble opinion -- fit the Glee gestalt."
