There’s been a lot of news lately about some of the celebrities that will be appearing in supporting roles in The Muppets, the new muppet film from director James Bobin and writer Jason Segel.

Here’s a rundown of some of the names tipped to appear in the film:

Barbara Eden will reprise her classic role of Jeannie from the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie.

...but it sounds to me like she's going to make another "gag appearance", as she did at the end of "A Very Brady Sequel". I have nothing against that, but I'd like to see Barbara on screen for more than just a few seconds as "Jeannie" in this movie. I sincerely hope this "Muppets" script is not the kind of affair where Barbara picks it up, reads it, and says, "Whoever wrote this doesn't know Jeannie very well"...that's what she's previously said about the proposed revised theatrical "Jeannie" movie that's been threatening to be produced over the past five years or so.

Just thought I'd post that Barbara has cleared up this rumor that she in fact will not be in the film. She said she has not been contacted about it and has no plans to be in it.
